Kavanaugh Grant Real Estate and Newport Rents

Extremely unprofessional. Extremely unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and find ANY other business to work with. It started with a false advertisement of a property. I showed up to view a property and what was advertised was a completely different unit from what I was presented. The unit I walked into was MUCH less impressive. While deciding I could "settle" for the lesser in hopes that the better unit becomes available they recommended I make a deposit, so I did. They were asked to HOLD a check without cashing it, until the lease was signed, in order to reserve the property. I was assured by doing this, the property would not be rented to anyone else. They cashed the check anyway, against my wishes, and I ended up losing the property because the landlord rented it to someone else. When I then asked for a printed copy of my credit report that I paid for them to run as a part of the application fee/process, I was refused. After the hassle I was put through, you'd think that would be the least they could do, as well as refund my application fee. That explains the bad reputation.

As a landlord, I have been working with Newport Rents/ Kavanagh Grant agency for years. I have found them to be extremely professional, prompt to emails, and texts. I have even gone as far as buying a home using their agency. I have had great success with all the tenants that they have placed as well. I would recommend this agency.

I would highly recommend using both Newport Rents and Kavanaugh Grant Real Estate, they had a buyer for my home in 2 DAYS after placing my house on the Market! My old neighbor had her home on the Market before I did with a different Real Estate Agency. Yesterday, I drove by Its still on the Market! Everyone understands selling a home is very stressful Jason, Steve and Tim are so knowledgeable, very aggressive and professional . They walked me through the whole process ,answered every question I had also returned my calls and texts promptly. We had only 30 days to sell our home after 3 offers in 2 days the buyer offered OVER the asking price!! Everything happened so fast. I didn't even know where I would reside, Newport Rents said" don't worry, we have it under control". Looking for an apartment was organized from showing to showing. I gave Kevin a description what I needed BOOM he found exactly what I asked for in a rental at reasonable price that included heat and hot water that's huge living Newport! When they say they are the experts... They are!! Thank you Newport Rents! All the agents are awesome, helpful, backed by their superior customer service and impeccable skills to sell a home and or rent . Great experience, Thanks again!

The WORST reality group in all of RI. DO not use them. Contacted them multiple times finally Maria got back to me only to cancel the showings we ha already lined up. The word around town is that this is where kids go to start a career in reality....unprofessional
