I went back to school because even though I liked what I did, I was in an industry that would never pay me what I was worth doing it, and I couldn't find a way into a different industry. Kelley helped me make that pivot, and my salary at my next job will be 75% more than what it was before I left for school. It helped me learn the language of business, so I now sound more intelligent. I learned about aspects of business that I didn't know existed, like operations, strengthened my vocabulary in finance and accounting, so I will be better on cross-functional teams, and learned frameworks to help me map things strategically. Career services provided excellent guidance, even during my summer internship. I met and interviewed with companies that wouldn't have given me the time of day before through on-campus recruiting. The opportunity I found was off-campus, but through an official Kelley job board. In terms of weaknesses, Bloomington is wonderful and beautiful, but it is very hard to be here if you are single, as pretty much the only people in our age range are our classmates. We are older than all of the other graduate programs on average. It is however, great for married students with kids, and Kelley provides a lot of activities and guidance for parents and partners. For future applicants, show you are a team player and that you have a concrete, general idea of what you want to do after graduation. Also, know that Kelley is great when it comes to fellowships and financial aid.

Thought leaders in business education at all levels. I am particularly impressed with the leadership in their business school, the collection of fascinating and highly skilled faculty, and their MBA programs. The culture is so open, warm, and positive. The professors enjoy their craft and take pride in their innovations and their graduates. The Kelley School of Business is so refreshing compared to the environment in the other top rated business schools I have worked with over the years.

I went to Kelley for undergrad. Getting into UI Bloomington is very easy, Kelley on the other hand is one of the most competitive undergrad business programs to get into. It is hands down a top 5 business (Haas, UCLA, UVA, Ross are probably a little better) undergrad program for public universities, and most websites seem to have it listed in the top 10- top 20. Although it is not as competitive as UVA, U-Mish, Cal, UCLA, Foster, and McCombs class sizes are small and the city is fantastic, really when you are talking about top schools or top programs within schools its really up to personal preference. For example my older brother got into Foster, and my oldest brother got into McCombs, they also got into Kelley, but chose Foster and McCombs because they liked the city better, and because those schools were more prestigious for their major.

The school is by no means perfect, but the review above by Anna Carolina is the most slanted view I've ever seen. Objectively, the school is ranked in the top 10 for undergraduate business programs by Bloomberg Businessweek in 2014. My personal experiences have been mostly positive and I would recommend a kelley education to anyone interested in business.

Not a school that produces Front-Office recruits. Companies recruit here for BACK-office positions. BEWARE: The school is turning into an INDIAN DEGREE MILL- due to a great number of INDIAN faculty and Administrators who can't speak English. To a great extent overrun by recruited international students from INDIA paying full-sticker, out-of state tuition price ( displacing many smart local Indiana students who qualify for lower in-state rates). Pretty much 90% of the white students are hard-core Greeks. Job placement is great, but the QUALITY OF JOBS IS LOW. Many third-rate, boring accounting, consulting, banking and consumer goods companies recruit here for their non-fast-track corporate cog positions- like General Mills, KPMG,Discover. Sexy companies in tech, finance and consulting like McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Goldman, Google, Apple, Amazon, Uber, Facebook do not really recruit in this back-woods, fly-over country. MSIS program is a degree mill run by the INDIAN mafia to churn out H1B1 visa Indian IT consultants for boring Big4 jobs. There are a token few white guys and girls in the program who are treated poorly and ostracized by overwhelmingly INDIAN professors and students. 90% of MSIS students are indians. The school has good programs in boring fields like ACCOUNTING and OPERATIONS, to a lesser extent FINANCE. Programs in exciting fields like Marketing are poor. Programs in HR and Organizational Development are non-existent. Gender balance by program is very poor. Operations and Finanace is 85% men. Marketing is 90% women. Enterpreneurship is 90% men. IT is 90% men. Accounting is 70% men. At Kelley a student is really just a number, since intro classes are HUGE and are designed to be weed-out classes. Especially Accounting 101. Accounting is not that difficult, but it has been made extra difficult at IU to weed out the greatest number of students. 85% of first-time class takers fail or withraw from accounting 101, an that is by design.
