Kona Grill - Franklin

This used to be one of our favorite places. Last night's dinner was capped by the fact that they no longer serve wasabi and ginger on many plates because "we are trying to keep the cost down". What? Drinks were not done correctly and they continue to have issues using traditional gift cards. There are much better options.

Our waitress was super nice but other than that the service was terrible. We were sitting there for about an hour and a half waiting for our food. We had gotten sushi and sushi bowls so they didn’t even need to be cooked. When we asked the manager what was taking so long, he had no idea. The food was pretty good and they gave us a free desert but still. I don’t suggest this place if you are in a hurry.

We had an appetizer and their sushi. And it was really good sushi for the second time in a row. Had the fondue and it was okay. But the sushi with chicken and mango was outstanding.

Less than satisfactory experience. Went as a party of 4, and had 2 meals brought out at least 15 minutes before the other 2. Poor customer service and had to ask for everything that was needed including having appetizer and empty plates removed from the table. Manager helped redo a meal that was not made properly and he knew of our displeasure and further follow up and customer service was not done. They must have an expectation of minimal customer service. Have had good experiences here before but this was by far the worst.

They use hard grain rice on the sushi, the stuff that's not sticky at all and should be used in fried rice dishes only. Naturally the rolls fall apart on the plate. Fish smells and taste stale. I've had better sushi from Publix deli section. You're pretty much paying for the "vibe" at the place. Don't come for the food because you'll be disappointed.
