On the hottest days of the year, I thank my lucky stars that I can take a refreshing dip in the cool water of the Kosciuszko pool. We are truly blessed that the Polish founders of Bedford Stuyvesant had the foresight to build a facility that holds the sole purpose of preventing hyperthermia. No heat stroke for the current denizens of this fine neighborhood. The pool warms my cockles when I jump in and have the opportunity to stand in uncomfortable proximity to such a tapestry of exotic cultures.
Very big and spacious pool. I never have and any issues going there. It is diverse which I love. My daughter loves it. Just be mindful to bring a lock. Phones aren’t allowed every if you aren’t using them. So place them in your lockers !
You the Arabic mom tomorrow I'm going to come to that pool maybe and try to go in okay I'm only sending a message for
Pool is dirty, facilities are run down. The workers seem unhappy & bored. Some of the patrons get out of control in the locker room. Not enough lifeguards and many long lines to get in. Parks department workers are rude- I wrote this a few years back and they really have turned it around in the last few years.
PICK UP THE PHONE, WILL YOU? You got 5 ladies hanging out at the entrance doing nothing 70% of the time and you can't have someone pick up the phone? this's the epitome of public institutions' inefficiency. Pool is nice, lifeguards are great, just those entrance ladies ruining people's day.
_5 stars for the pool itself & the lifeguards. _1 star for the ladies at the entrance; their horrible manner and attitude are more consistent than clockwork. _ The male staff are mostly nice! NYC Parks & Rec, it's not the brightest idea to give your pool staff the authorization to close the pool & kick everyone out at will, because they'd just look for excuses to close & get home early. Trust us, we know they really want to go home early, they scream that at us every day. MAJOR conflict of interest! This happened so many times already this summer season 2022 - twice because the teenagers in the pool were being rowdy, allegedly, what does that have to do with the rest of us?? I understand that sometimes this's justified, that's why I call ahead to make sure they're open. They NEVER pick up the phone! If you like to randomly shut down the pool and turn people away, at least PICK UP THE PHONE, will you?? Often showers are shut off - this probably "helps" make the patrons leave faster instead of lingering for the shower. Mismanagement is a waste of such an otherwise amazing facility for the community!
How come they NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE? People are tired of showing up & getting turned away, so would you please pick up the phone when they call ahead to check? Other public pools don't have this issue with phone calls not being answered.
Me and my one year old had a blast. The staff was very accommodating and personable. The pool was nice and clean. The lifeguard on the toddlers side paid very close attention to the kids even though most of us parents had our eye on our children. Everyone seemed to be having a very great time. No drama and most of all my son slept soundly
Very strict but once you complete your checklist no electronics including watches, white covers only, and more it actually feels safe and not chaotic inside bc of these rules
It is cool but the staffs are very rude nd way to strict it’s a public pool not private and the lines are mad long btw
