Krekel's Custard

Great Burgers and custard!!! Loved this on my recent visit to Illinois. Classic Midwestern GRUB, perfect American charm. Only got rid of one star because of the behavior of the ill mannered staff. Good golly, you would think you would leave comments about "needing a plan B after tonight" to yourself. Especially if you aren't a very aesthetically pleasing individual to look at

This is for the location off of Main St. Soft-serve was delightful, strawberry, all day! Fries were excellent and the burgers were a solid value. Would definitely go here again next time in Decatur.

Lives up to the hype. Delicious thin crispy patties with all the classic topping options. Highly recommend getting a double. Brings me back to being a kid eating at that small town burger spots.

This location is getting a little run down but burgers were still great. Picnic tables are way in the back of the parking lot.

1st time there and went on another driver's recommendation. Their burgers are fresh, cooked to order, and dressed to your liking. The food, including their fries, stayed hot throughout the meal. Now, their milkshakes are the sole reason for going, and they didn't disappoint. The first sip had me calling God. The last sip had me wanting a cigarette, and I don't even smoke!

The hamburger tastes the same today as it did 65 years ago . In my opinion it's the best hamburger in the world.

If they would take the time to write your order down then they could actually be better and maybe get your order right. And their attitude could be better. The way the counter person looked at my wife made me want to go slap her.

Been going to this krekles since we lived in a house that used to be in their parking lot in 1967! While building krekles Mr krekles told my brother and me if we watched the site while under construction he'd give us a free hamburger, fry and coke, he never did lol.

Wonderful, courteous service with a smile! THAT is important these days! Very good frozen custard! Very reasonable prices!
