You need to be really careful here because the register will charge higher prices than what's advertised on the sticker. I've had issues on several occasions where they either don't apply the shoppers card, apply the incorrect price, or the numbers on the receipt simply don't add up. Usually it gets by me and I fork over a few extra dollars, but on the most recent visit it was almost a $20 difference on a $45 tab. Even after the cashier manually corrected the prices to reflect the shoppers card, it was still $5 too high! I don't trust Kroger anymore
Its clean, but thats about the only thing nice I can say. Carts are in terrible condition. 3rd party salesmen meet you at the door very aggressively. Selection is medium at best for a store with such ethnic diversity. I only go here because it has a little more selection than other stores near me.
It's a good idea to check out the Holloween items and candy. Eventually you will find something for the event.
Bad enough there is only one register open at night besides self checkout, but the worst security is standing at the register having long drawn out conversations with customers slowing down the only cashier. Today was the worst. No management is around while the "security guard" is interfering with your ONLY cashier! Get it together Kroger! ON 9/5/22 @ 8:30pm I went to register 15 at the kroger on 1440 Studemont St, Houston, TX 77007. The cashier and security guard we carrying on a long drawn out conversation with 2 customers in front of me. I didn't say anything while the customer was there because it was not their fault that the cahier and security guard were talking. here's my issue, the cashier would scan, stop and talk. this register was the ONLY one open minus the self check outs. But I had too much stuff to go through the self checkout. yes the customers also had lots if items but the issue is the conversations were slowing down the cashier. I heard the cashier ask the customers a husband and wife if they had kids. they said no and she the cashier said- I have 3 kids , you shouldn't have kids. the conversation was so long and inappropriate. they even started talking about strippers. and the male customer says " oh we know what she the cashier will be doing later" and the security guard said " you have to do what you have to do" This conversation slowed down the transaction so much that I looked back and there were 3 other customers waiting in line. The cashier never looked our way, never tried to hurry up. she purposely went slow . Here is the real issue: when I FINALLY was able to get checked out, the cashier seemed annoyed that I actually waiting to get checked out . I asked the security guard if he was the security guard there and he started to argue with me saying he was doing his job. I told him that I hope nothing bad is happening in the other side of the store while he's standing here at the register slowing down the cashier while having these long drawn out conversations. he actually told me I wasn't allowed to come back to the store. He told me " God bless you I don't want to here anything from you anymore. i did ask for a manager and when the manager came over they ignored the situation and went straight to the register to help with the long line. this security guard is NOT doing a good job at securing the entire store! instead of chatting with the customers and slowing down the ONLY cashier.
Always a great experience at this location. Cleanliness, store set-up, product availability and customer-driven staff, this store has it ALL!!!
Since living in the Houston area, Kroger has been a pretty solid alternative to Walmart. I've shopped the Studemont location many times throughout the years and have never had a negative experience. I like Kroger because it is typically better stocked than Walmart. As a bonus, the points program is pretty good and works at any Kroger branded grocery store, including Smith's.
Check out here is always a fiasco. It's either no help at self check or long line at full service .I only go because they have a great selection.
terrible! 35 minutes waiting for my pick up order and left without them There’s absolutely no excuse: •checked in via app •checked in via website •checked in by calling that number on the parking spot •called the actual store at least 3 times, no answer •called the check-in phone number multiple times to be answered and hung up •and finally when an employee had the decency to actually answer, all they said was “they already closed” It’s not that hard people. If you can’t fulfill your drive up orders, then don’t offer the service!! here I was, 4 weeks post knee surgery placing my order thinking what a life saver Kroger was. What a joke!
I placed an order for pick up. The associate came to my car to deliver the groceries. Threw the groceries inside my car. “Completed my order” before it was even finished as I had questions about my order. Only to get home and a bottle of bleach was upside down ruining my carpet inside my vehicle. I went to the store immediately to speak to a manager. Only to be told that was a different department and all he could do was take my information. And submit a request and the manager from that dept. would call. I never got a call from that manager. Went back to the store and the original manager was there. I went with an invoice for the damage that occurred. He submitted the claim 40 days later Kroger is not at fault for their employees negligence. DO NOT ORDER YOUR GROCERIES OR CLEANING SUPPLIES FROM HERE. My entire order was ruined due to bleach that had leaked everywhere.
Went in to grab a few items, no problems. Staff was helpful, in and out in a jiffy, plus points towards a discount on gas. Always happy to see real live cashiers.
