Thus far, my experiences with this Kroger, specifically the pharmacy, have been a nightmare. I just moved to Louisville from Richmond and wanted to have my prescriptions sent to this Kroger's pharmacy since it's nearest to my new home. I was experiencing issues on the app, so I called the pharmacy to make sure they successfully received the refill request. The line rang for over 30 minutes before I eventually gave up and hung up. That didn't seem normal, so I called the general store number to ask if the pharmacy's phone line was functioning properly. They were short with me and said "ma'am, they are just VERY backed up. Do you want to speak to a manager?" I really didn't have intentions of speaking to a manager, but what the heck, couldn't hurt, right? Wrong. I nicely explained what I was trying to do to the manager and asked if the pharmacy's phone was working since it had rang for over 30 minutes without being answered, and she said the exact thing the CS associated had just said, that they were "backed up". She then said she'd "make them answer my call" and immediately transferred me back to the pharmacy before I could even reply. Sadly, I sat with the line ringing for another 15 minutes before eventually giving up for good. It's clear the staff is making a concerted effort to ignore the ringing phone lines, or have perhaps even taken the phone off the hook or turned the ringer off. They refuse, even if requested by management, to assist their customers. I came to Google to look at the reviews to see if this was normal for this location, and low and behold, this seems to be everyone's experience. I just called my Richmond Kroger location earlier today and got through in less than 3 minutes, so this is certainly not normal. No one should be stuck on hold with a local pharmacy for over 30 minutes just trying to ask a simple question about their medication. I understand if they're short staffed or backed up, but how hard would it be to have an answering service where you could leave a message? How can someone at the main desk answer the phone immediately, but there's no one in the pharmacy that can answer the phone for over an hour? It's all very confusing. Even a message that said "We're experiencing high call volumes, you may be on hold for an extended period of time" would be better than the phone ringing continuously forever. A ringing tone insinuates someone will eventually answer, that which they never do. It's safe to say I will be filling my prescriptions elsewhere. I am a loyal Kroger shopper and do like receiving the rewards points for my prescriptions, but I'd drive across town before I'd deal with people who have no respect for their customers or their time. I owned a business for 10 years and while you do get busy, you absolutely cannot just choose to ignore people. Come up with a better system to manage callers or don't have a phone line. End of story!
I hate this pharmacy. I’ve never felt like this about a pharmacy until this one. The most rude, incompetent, and unhelpful staff I’ve ever seen. Should I start at us going through the drive thru and no one answering us, then going inside only to see the girl leaning on the table not helping anyone, or to everyone one of them telling us something wrong about a prescription we need? I hope you’re not in pain and deal with this pharmacy. They don’t value human life.
Yesterday our doctor called in a prescription to the Fern Creek Kroger pharmacy while we were standing next to him. He actually talked to the pharmacist to place the order for the script. We never got a notification that the medication was filled. I called the pharmacy today and inquired if the prescription was filled. They swore that our doctor never placed the order and that they had not talked to our doctor at all. I called our doctor and she put me on speaker when they called again to place the order for the medicine so I could hear it was actually done. I waited 4 hours and called the pharmacy to see if the prescription was received and filled. They swore again that the doctors office never called and that they did not have any prescription for my husband. This is beyond acceptable considering we actually heard both phone calls where our doctor actually talked to the pharmacist.
This pharmacy is TERRIBLE. So incredibly SLOW every time I go and there is almost always a significant line of people waiting. Lately the drive through window isn’t even an option anymore—I assume due to short staffing…maybe if they decided to pay their technicians a livable and acceptable wage for the amount of work, they might see a different in their staffing. They have two windows inside and I have NEVER seen more than one window being used to help people. They also take incredibly long to fill scripts compared to other pharmacies. I have been coming to this pharmacy for YEARS and each time I visit, I am reminded again that I need to switch to a different option.
Staff is very friendly and they always look for the best price for me. This pharmacy has gotten better than it used to be as far as service and getting prescriptions on time.
I initially started going to this pharmacy because the kindness and promptness of customer service was unmatched to those around me. There are even two Kroger's closer to me & multiple other chain pharmacies closer to me than this one. After my third unpleasant encounter with one of their employees I have decided not only to change pharmacies but unfortunately feel the need to warn others in the area on their search for a neighborhood pharmacy. Do not go to this one. The unhappy and unpleasant pharmacy employee by the name, Jamie, has made me confident that the type of disrespect and lack of empathy is not worth the extra mileage anymore. Not having a prescription ready, waiting 20-30 minutes per trip, not even having the price correct which has to be corrected each month to the tune of $20 a refill for some reason, isn't even my main concern. Unfortunately, her customer service or lack-thereof has been the final deterrent from me ever having a script filled there again. It is such a shame to be honest, because good customer service during such a tough time is hard to judge and hard to come by. The rest of the staff there has always been so kind and accommodating for me and my family but this hasn't been our first unpleasant interaction but certainly will be our last. Wish I would have read the other reviews before now. 2 stars for 35 reviews is a major red flag and now I understand why.
If I could give no stars I would. I've been using this pharmacy for years, but within the last 6 months, they will NOT answer the phone unless you allow it to ring for 10 minutes or more. The drive through is unacceptably slow. They also won't bother to call you if your insurance denies your refill so you're forced to call them, hold for 10 or more minutes, only for them to tell you that your prescription has to be filled somewhere else. Don't use this as your pharmacy!
Really dismissive, do not answer the phone, I’ve needed their help with records and they brush me off and try to get me out of there. Tell me to check with other places just for those places to tell me that the Kroger Pharmacy is responsible and send me right back. Been trying to get a hold of them for weeks and they don’t answer the phones. Act like they’re so busy when half of them are sitting around joking.
I've had repeated issues at this pharmacy, but its close to home so I've tried to pick my battles. After my experience with the pharmacy tech Susan yesterday, I'm done. I was the first in line behind someone being assisted, and I waited for 20 minutes. Susan was the only pharmacy tech assisting walk-ins. There were 4 other employees in the pharmacy, none of which offered to assist the growing line behind me. Even the pharmacy manager clocked out, walked by me, and said "someone will be with you shortly," which was a lie, as I stood there for 10 more minutes. Susan told me I didn't have a prescription ready. I asked that she check again, because I have a 90-day prescription that insurance will only cover if I get 30-day supplies instead. She looked again and said she found it, but it wasn't ready. I told her I'm almost out of pills, and asked when I could come back. She said next week. I asked if they'd be ready when I show up. She said, "no, you should call 2 days beforehand and tell us its time to make it." I'm not calling to tell you to make my prescription. I don't work there- YOU DO. EDIT: I just spent 20 minutes waiting for someone in the pharmacy to pick up the phone that rang over 100 times. I even called the customer service desk of Kroger, hoping they’d be able to get me through. They said due to the pharmacy remodel, they only have one working phone line. When I finally got through to a tech, she rushed me off the phone and said “I’ll have it ready later today. Bye.” Heed everyone’s advice in these google reviews and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
This pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous. Marsha answered the phone this afternoon in a very condescending tone. After asking if I can get a 3 day emergency supply of my depression medication she replied with “well are we even contacting your doctor?” “I said I don’t know Marsha but I don’t know why that time was used with me.” She seemed to reevaluate herself after that comment and was a tad bit nicer. We are just normal people and we don’t work in your pharmacy. Most of us have no clue what goes on when we just need an emergency supply. I would probably reevaluate your attitudes before you deal with the wrong customer. Glad you had me this time Marsha.
