La Bicyclette Restaurant

First off, Carmel by the Sea is such a beautiful place to getaway. Walked over the La Bicyclette and honestly, knew my experience was going to be great upon receiving my drink order. A Stella served on a plate, with a Stella cold class and a toothpick with cheese to accompany my drink. We ordered the meat appetizer plate which was phenomenal! Had the seafood linguine for dinner. Place was superb and would go back again and again.

Abalone, swing and a miss! Loved the restaurant all the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant is small so no waiting area and we were met promptly and seated. Ann was our server and she was very nice and treated us as old friends. My only comment is the Abalone was sold to us as really prepared very well. I have had very good Abalone and it is a very hard shell fish to do correctly. You have to really tenderize this shell fish. My experience when it was done properly was presented paper thin and when prepared this way, it was outstanding. Unfortunately, this was tough and thick and was a real miss. At first, I thought they just don't know how to do a proper presentation but then I thought for $24.00 they should, so here is my review. Too bad I really wanted to like this place. Beware! is all I can say.

Came on a Sunday around 7ish with no reservation, opening at 8:15 so we wandered around downtown and came back at 8 and were seated. Very cute atmosphere, very kind staff. The food was delish. Ended up around $200 for two with a half bottle of wine, one appetizer, bread (the butter is so good), two mains, dessert. A bit of a line/wait for restroom. Would definitely go back.

My meal was amazing!! I highly recommend eating here. The pizza was DELICIOUS and honestly some of the best I have had. I also recommend eating their salads as well. This is a great choice!

Great food at pretty reasonable prices. This restaurant is set in the heart of Carmel and it was a lovely experience people-watching while we enjoyed our meal. I ordered the mussels, and they were delicious 😋! Pretty good quantity too for the price.
