You just have to support these mom and pop shops! This restaurant has been here for decades providing great Caribbean Latin food for the community. Whenever I go to a spot like this I have to get the AJONJOLI Sesame seed drink which is sweet and so good! I was in the neighborhood for the Puerto Rican day festival and they were so gracious to allow us to use the bathroom. We were paying customers after all.
This is a good place to get some Spanish food when in the area. This place has been here for years & is a staple of East harlem that serves the community & hispanic community of East harlem, etc. Food: 4/5
My parents & I went to dine in/eat at this restaurant for the first time. The customer service was ok but could’ve been better. The food was super bland and dry. We all three had different dishes and everything besides the red beans was tasteless. Out of 10 the food was a solid 2. Also the patelitos tasted like old oil. Did I mention that the total was almost $60?!?! Extremely overpriced, never coming back here again.
Traditional and homegrown type food geared more toward takeout but you can never go wrong the food is fresh everyday and delicious I travel about two and a half miles just to get that food it is so good and well priced Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is elevated but there is a concrete ramp going up through door and people are more than willing to hold door open while you enter to purchase your food the people that work there are super friendly super generous and I always feel like I'm at home when I am there love this restaurant
First time here and last time for sure. Never again. I ordered white rice with red beans and pernil roast pork and sweet plantains. The rice was bland, the beans were undercooked, hard and the caldo juice was desabrío-No Flavor, and the meat was not cooked well, pinkish red in color and tasted gamey...GROSS. The only decent thing on my plate was the plantains! El jugo de Tamarindo was watery as well. SMDH. I'm an educated and civil person so I paid my "$20" took my platanitos and bounced. Needless to say I will NEVER go back there nor would I recommend this spot to anyone. Sorry
I Always Feel a Sense of "Home" When I Dine There! Listening to The Elders- The Abuelas & Abuelos Tell Stories of Their Past Makes My Meal Taste Even Better Food: 5/5
The chicken is so dry it's like eating 2 popeye biscuits at the same time. No good
Rare to find authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. A must stop for Cuchi Frido's not sure how to spell it when I'm in upper Manhattan.
Been going to this restaurant for many years .i never been disappointed great foodFood: 5/5
I've been coming to the establishment for at least 10 years if not longer. While the quality of the food has gone down their prices have just gone up. I completely understand the high demand in rent and materials and labor But it really doesn't account for their food tasting worse than it has in years prior. Specifically their Papa Fritas I remember getting them for a $1.25 and them being so delicious And now they're either 2.50 or 2.75 and the masa / meat filling is meh.
