Disappointing Experience and Unjustified Service Charge I’m honestly very disappointed with my recent visit to your restaurant. The entire experience was frustrating, especially after discovering how customers are charged. When we arrived, there was no guidance on seating, so we assumed we could choose any available table. We sat down, but no one acknowledged us for quite some time, making us feel like we might have chosen the wrong spot. My mother eventually approached the waitstaff to ask whether we should order at the table or the counter. She was told someone would come to our table shortly. While our waitress was polite, she didn’t check on us throughout the meal. After waiting a long time for our check, I had to go up to the counter to ask if we should pay there or wait for someone to come to our table. The cashier checked me out, but the total seemed higher than expected, and I wasn’t given a receipt. I paid the bill and left a tip, but something didn’t feel right about the amount, so I went back and asked for a receipt. To my surprise, I saw that an additional 18% service fee had been added. This was incredibly frustrating since the service we received didn’t come close to justifying such a charge. It felt undeserved, especially given the lack of attention throughout our visit.
Food was okay.. could have been better.. inside was very nice. flavor could have been better.. arepas was a bit dry and the meat had barely any seasoning in it.. they didn't have the green Cilantro dipping sauce at all . The flavor in the empanadas was very off. Had like a weird second flavor to them and no seasoning on the meat either.. I have been to better Colombian places.. the only thing I will say I will give them is the sancocho was very very good. But they didn't even serve me a piece of yuca inside my soup.. but the taste was good . Also the passion fruit drink tasted like freezer burn from the freezer.. seems like they use low quality type or something.. and the cup was very very small mason jar.. other places will serve a full tall glass.. the lemonade cup was a great size..
We order through Uber eats and where a little skeptical as we have had Colombian food from other places and been highly disappointed We order a bandeja paisa, two beef empanadas, tostones con carne y hogao, and one arepa casa. The flavor was delicious it was savorie and rich and the portion sizes were pretty decent more than expected and the prices in my opinion were pretty reasonable I totally recommend and will order from here again
The reason for my review is the picada we ordered looked like it was full, but we were surprised to see it was a layer of meat on top of a mountain of sweet plantains. We ordered the picada for 2 to share, but probably would have been in the same boat if we ordered the single serving.Food: 3/5
Me and my husband have been here a couple of times we absolutely love la bandeja paisa big dish for about 13-14$ not bad at all. Love there natural mango water. Service isn’t too bad
