I was here for breakfast and took desserts with me a couple of times. For breakfast I took eggs Benedict with salmon, cherry blossom latte and praline millefeuille. From the pros: the food looks very nice and you can take a lot of cool photos. Also the interior inside is beautiful: high windows, paintings, sculptures, plants, very aesthetically pleasing. The waiters are polite, smiling, always ready to prompt and answer your questions. The waiting time for the order to be ready on Monday morning, with an empty cafe, was around 10 minutes, that is, not for long. Now from the cons: the food tastes ordinary. absolutely ordinary, there is no excitement and desire to come back again and order something. That desserts, that main dishes do not cause delight to pay such a high price for them. They're just not worth it. Beautiful yes, delicious-probably not. You should always book tables, and it's better to do it in advance. I took with me 4 different desserts to take away and they also did not delight my family. Something is too sweet, something is too greasy, we threw out the croissant after the first bite, as it was worse than the cheapest baking. In general, it's a great place to take a lot of beautiful and aesthetic photos, but if taste is more important to you than beauty, I recommend looking for another place.
Laduree is an example of a restaurant that has become a destination then got lazy. The outdoor courtyard is lovely; perfect for brunch or tea in a rare, peaceful setting in Soho. I’ve been there many times and the dishes are always presented beautifully. This time was no exception - all of our dishes were delicious and the fries are perfect - with the exception of the lobster roll which was very much lacking…lobster. During my most recent visit, we were served by a pompous kid who didn’t stop talking long enough to listen to our order, who obviously forgot to put in our request for croissants and then disappeared for long periods during our meal. The restaurant implemented an app that allows you to pay at the table, which based on our experience with the service, was just another method of neglecting their guests and turning tables.
The CUTEST place to have a nice lunch! We went for a team bridal shower lunch for one our colleagues that is getting married in February. The staff was great! The food was delicious. I especially loved the atmosphere. I was also surprised at the size of the place as they had multiple rooms.
If you're going in for the vibe or the ambience of a restaurant, then this is the perfect restaurant for you. However if you're looking forward to having great food, then this place wouldn't be my go to. I took the salmon Benedict and the avocado toast. Both were below my expectations. The macarons were really good.
Amazing service. If you pay with cash it must be the exact amount. The latte was okay. I found the tea to be amazing and next time I want the hot chocolate. The croissants are amazing and this rose puff pastry was peelrfextion. The staff was so on the ball. The garden is gorgeous.
Visited here on a Saturday evening around 7pm. The garden was about half full and there were plenty of reservations available online. We went up to the hostess stand and she essentially turned us away saying they were fully booked up for the evening. We told her there were plenty of reservations available online and she told us if we were even able to book, we would have to wait. We booked without a problem, and she told us we could take a 15 minute walk and come back. We decided to stay, and within two minutes she asked if we would at least be ordering food. When we confirmed she sat us. Throughout the evening we saw her turn away multiple parties of two even though there were plenty of tables available in the garden and at the bar. Maybe they didn’t have enough wait staff to cover the entire garden, maybe they were trying to close the garden soon, but if that’s the case the hostess could have said that. With that aside, our server Hugo was incredible and so pleasant. He even offered without us having to awkwardly ask to take a photo of us when he saw us taking pictures of our food! He never made us feel rushed and really made our experience better. Drinks were delicious and they have a fantastic flavorful French onion soup. Will definitely return, but maybe make sure I have a reservation so I don’t have to face the attitude for attempting to try a walk in at a restaurant.
My friend and I came here for a girls brunch. The atmosphere was super cute. We had mid morning reservations and were sat shortly after arriving. We sat in the back garden and at the time about 1/3 of the tables were sat. The French toast was good, a little soggy but I loved the flavoured cream and preservatives. My friend wasn’t a huge fan of her “seasonal omelette.” It was just a classic French style omelette, open facing egg, with edamame and asparagus. I think she was just hoping for something more substantial. She did enjoy the side greens and potatoes though. Our coffees were great. I was surprised that they only offered “mock tails” as we were hoping for some classic brunch cocktails. With only about 1/3 of the total garden being full, they only had 2 servers outside and another inside so, so the service was a bit slow. But with the current staffing shortages we didn’t really mind. It was definitely a cute experience, but we probably won’t be dying to come back soon unless we had guests visiting from out of town.
This place to DIE FOR! It’s a bakery & luxury dining experience! One side is a gourmet dessert shop, the center of the space is their indoor seating and the other side yes this place is a city block long is an outdoor garden filled with seating & beautiful bar. The decor breathtaking. I felt like I was a queen returning to her royal quarters! Well done! The food is fresh, flavorful, beautifully resented & the dining sets are even decorated to the T! The staff are attentive, pleasant, give amazing recommendations & are fun to be around while they’re getting their job done. I will sooo be back! When in soho after shopping, GO HERE!
Wonderful vibe. Good service. Tasty food. We tried french toast with maple syrup, avocado toast and omelette with goat cheese white omelette. All of them were very good. Restroom was vey clean. The price is affordable for this positive place.
I come here often whenever I'm in NYC. The service is impeccable every time I come. Also, their food is consistent in quality - they never fail to please. I ordered the eggs Benedict and a rose latte. Their bread is a must-try; it has the 'European' quality. Their macarons are also authentic. Try to sit in the garden if you can; the vibe is great.
