Langenstein's

Went in yesterday afternoon to place an order for a customized Gentility cake. By customized I mean literally written on top of. Lady walked with me to customer service took down my name, phone number, and email. Even asked what I wanted the cake to read as well as what time I would like to pick it up. Upon picking up my cake this morning I was told to pick up by the Deli .. and despite the man being discombobulated he handed me a PLAIN CAKE. Frustrated, I told him it was supposed to read “Happy 2nd Anniversary..” We walked back to the bakery together to get it written on before I purchased. And the word “Anniversary” is all over the icing border because this cake had no intention of ever being mine. Had they of made the cake with the intention of it being ours they would have written on it prior, it would have been written straight .. and things would not have looked clearly rushed.

This is one of my favorite groceries I'm for my small country town and it reminds me of the store that we used to go to when I was growing up. The cashiers are very friendly and the store has a great variety of items and a very great hot meal Bar.

Great place to shop for local favorites and more. Bakery & Deli are great. Many prepared foods, too. Decent parking lot area. Worth a stop to shop!

OMG! Worst gumbo I bought at Langenstein’s. Terrible! No taste at all and no shrimp and the crab is so filthy. The soup was so dark they didn’t even brush or scrub the crab to be clean. You can see it in the pictures I took. I always love their gumbo but today I don’t like it at all. Something wrong with the cook. I purchased this on July 20th. I won’t buy again.

Ordered catering tray of fried chicken fingers for game day. Received wet bbq sauce chicken instead. Called and told them of the issue. They quickly made the correct order and manager John personally drove it to our house before kick off. Incredible service.

I recently ordered a large catering order of finger sandwiches and the like and was well taken care of by the wonderful staff at Langenstein’s! They were accommodating and it was a great experience overall! Everything was delicious and we were given great service from everyone throughout the store— I highly recommended! And you are supporting local!

Great items in the deli case. Love their homemade dressings for holiday cooking. Visited again today 03SEP24. Bought some apples and onions. Good looking produce at a good price. After reading some of the other reviews, I have to question the sincerity and honesty of the other posters. I have been shopping at the Metairie store since right after Katrina. I remember a time when the store was in need of a renovation/upgrade, but the place looks fine, now. I have never encountered a foul or sewerage smell in the store. I have never encountered rude or less than professional behavior from the staff. A couple of former employees are claiming that sanitation or sanitary conditions fall short of safety standards. If that were the case, there would be numerous documented cases of food borne illnesses. I have to wonder why those former employees did not report any "violations" while working there. I have been getting my holiday side dishes there for several years. Never a problem.

The food on the hot bar was a bit salty this time. Not good for customers with elevated blood pressure.

This grocery store is very nice. The cold pre packaged salads are good as well as their bakery products. I will be trying their hot bar soon. The meat dept is awesome ! Fresh cuts of meat & the staff is very customer service oriented & I luv that. Will be shopping there
