Attended for the Christmas afternoon tea. Excellent friendly service straight from the offset with a wealth of knowledge about the teas and dietary options on offer. Delicious courses served alongside a wide variety of teas of all type including black, green and white teas. All drink options well displayed with in depth descriptions of each in a lovely menu. Each course was accompanied by a well informed description from the waiting staff. Well baked and delicious scones rounded up a lovely experience.
Muhammad Night staff was the worst person I have ever encountered at a hotel or anywhere. One early morning, he was pushing a luggage cart and walking towards me in the lobby area. He looked me in my eyes as he walked towards me and did not speak. As he passed me rammed his shoulder into mine. That early in the morning, there was no one around, the lobby vast and had a ton of space on either side of us. He gave a 1/2 of an apology, but he was fake. I am a black woman and very strong. So the hit was extremely forceful, but I remained on my feet. I was stunned and did all I could to keep 'the Chicago' in me... in me; so I looked at him like he was crazy and did not say a word. My second encounter Muhammad was when I was arranging for an early departure from the hotel. The concierge called him over and asked him to secure a cab for me in the morning since he was just coming on his shift and would be there through the early morning hours. Muhammad said that he would secure the cab and even offered to give me a wake up call. He seemed so nice and pleasant in the company of his peers; however, I knew he could not be trusted. I left the desk, and I secured my own cab via an app that was referred to me, and I set my alarms. That morning he seemed surprised and a bit taken aback to see me heading out the hotel, packed, and with a cab waiting for me that I secured. Muhammad lied, and did not do anything he said he was going to do. He did not do the wakeup call nor did he secure the cab. As he help load the luggage, he held me up, asking where his tip was. I could not believe his nerve. Readers... This was a great hotel. Great food. I loved the restaurant and the lounge was super posh. But to have someone like this man on staff, ruins it for the hotel. Not me OR my money can go back there, as long as he is there. We can't make it! There are a lot of 5 star hotels in London, that would love to have me and my money.
Just stopped in for afternoon tea. The dining room is lavish, the pianist set the perfect tone, and the wait staff knew exactly what to recommend for a perfect meal. If you really enjoy any of the sandwiches or scones just ask for more of your favorite.
Came here for the afternoon tea years ago. We were very happy with the food and service and music. The sandwiches were so good I want to eat more. The ambiance of the place is very relaxing. Thanks for a great experience.Rooms: 5/5
Such a treat!! Amazing staff, beautiful dining room, excellent tea choices, and delicious, traditional high tea bites. Our waiter was the best and went above and beyond to ensure that our daughter felt every bit as special as she is on her birthday!
The Langham is the best hotel i have ever stayed at. Everything from service, cleanliness, rooms - all 10/10. The concierge- Sebastien was incredible. He made recommendations for our nightly dinners, handled the bookings and helped us with anything we needed. This is likely the only hotel i will ever visit when in London, it is absolutely worth every penny.
Hotel room, facilities were clean, enjoyed the pool and aroma steam room at the spa. The front door and reception team was welcoming keep up the standard! However differentiated standard of service and experience can be felt at the level 3 club and level 1 restaurant during breakfast. Racism shouldn't occur if the hotel pride and uphold a high standard and reputation. Yes I am a Asian Chinese and not a caucasian. We are living in year 2022 and times have changed
My teenage son and I stayed at the Langham for a classy Christmas treat. Everything was as I expected - wonderful! The highlight was the staff, all of whom were excellent. The greeting on arrival was special. From the men on the door taking our luggage to being shown to reception to being escorted to our room. We were not used to staying in a 5* hotel so this was really lovely.
I had mixed thoughts about the bar. It’s cosy yet had a cold feeling I think due to high ceilings. Somethings just happen to me the glass I was drinking from had a chip which I think isn’t acceptable in such a place and they should check thoroughly before serving. The gentleman serving was very apologetic and got an extra drink on the house which is much appreciated.
We went for afternoon tea as a group. The service was terrible!! They didn’t see to us until 40 minutes later. We had to ask for coats to be put away and the space was cramped. Although we all got our own plate of sandwiches and cakes the tea and scones were shared between us. This is unfair as we all paid £70 each! The food was not worth the money but you pay for the atmosphere and service- this was greatly lacking. They don’t even listen to your complain to make it better straight away. I could say more but I’ll end at don’t waste your time and money and go somewhere else.
