Laura's Candies

This location opened when the original location (a few blocks away) turned 100. There is a reason they have been open 100 years, and it is their great candy! This is THE store to go to in order to get fresh pralines (and Mississippi Mud) in New Orleans. Don't buy the boxes in the tourist stores - those things are stale AF! But Laura's always has fresh pralines in multiple flavors, and they are all done VERY well! The main reason to go here instead of the original store is that this place has ice cream, and a shake is great on a hot summer day. Other than that the stores carry all the same stuff, so feel free to go to either for all your candy needs!

Loved this candy shop. It has a wonderful history since it's been around for 105 years. The sweet clerk told us some cute stories and answered all of questions with a smile. The Mississippi Mud was delicious and I'm excited to try the jellies.

Smaller store but excellent service the lady there was super sweet she let us try everything before we decided on buying stuff. Salt water taffy is sooooo amazing and is sold by pound. Chocolate candies are delicious as well. Only problem is there is no where to sit and its a little tight in the store.

Excellent source of chocolate. Sweet lady was very patient with the multitude of questions and customers that keep coming. They were out of fudge during my visit. Will definitely be back when I visit New Orleans again!

They sell pralines everywhere in New Orleans, but this place is the best. Unique flavors and also so many specialty sweets like fudge, truffles, turtles and more.
