Eccentrically decorated and beautiful. French rolls are warm, crusty and unbelievably good just like all French bread should be. My waitress Natalie pulled the rolls right out of the oven. Wow. Their Country Pate was likely the best I've had since we were in Normandy FR. Pork medallions were wrapped in bacon, perfectly cooked, and very succulent. The large portion was a great surprise. The mushrooms served with the pork medallions were spectacular. I'd like to say they were marinated, but I'm totally guessing. Best to say they were sprinkled with magic spices . They gave me a wonderful truffle for dessert that was on the house. Looking forward to our return visit.
Had a nice birthday dinner here, the service was spot on and staff were so attentive. Everything we ordered from the seared duck to the fresh halibut was well prepared. The goat cheese salad was my favourite dish of the night. You could taste the freshness and good cooking techniques on everything, however I thought both proteins were under seasoned, and the sautéed vegetables needed more love. This is a charming little restaurant that doesn’t feel very snooty, even though it’s very pricey. Great location.
This French kitchen doesn't look like much from the street, but the decor is eclectic and the food is fantastique! I enjoyed the escargot in the requisite indulgently rich garlic butter, the French onion soup, and the stuffed bacon-wrapped chicken. All was delicious. The service was attentive but not overbearing, which was wonderful. If I had to come up with a critical comment, it would be that the chairs on the patio need a little more padding. Should you find yourself craving French cuisine in KC, you won't go wrong with Le Fou Frog.
Absolutely amazing experience. It’s a small quaint spot with great food. The entire restaurant was serenaded by one of the waiters. Felt like we were in a French bistro. The service was fantastic and food even better.
We went here for the first time with high expectations - Le Fou Frog did NOT disappoint!! The ambiance of the restaurant cannot be beat, nor can the food or service. We will be recommending Le Fou Frog to everyone and we will be back!
This is not at all what I expected. It was quite different than a typical French restaurant. I found to be very informal, casual, eclectic and extremely satisfying. The staff was very down to earth and authentic. My girlfriend and I ordered the French onion soup, an appetizer of duck liver and two wonderful entrées consisting of Seabass and Gnocchi’s with seafood medley. I won’t even attempt their French spelling or pronunciation. Lol. It’s all good in my language of origin which is English. you have to pardon the lighting. We sat indoors in the room had red colored lighting.
Me and my partner came here for my 25th bday. Our server was Lindsy and she was really great. Our food was tender and eclectic. They had a cat themed party that was super fun! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!
Went here for the first time the other night for a birthday celebration, great experience. Our server was so nice and knowledgable and even other staff interacted with us. Food was yummy, even got an appetizer on the house which was very appreciated. Really cute, moody, intimate restaurant. Everyone should try this place!
One of our favorites! Le Fou does not disappoint with the full serenade experience. First time having the Ribeye...perfectly cooked and great flavor.
Had a great anniversary dinner here. The foei gras was the best we've had. We will definitely come back.
