Ada is the best! I choose this salon because it was close to my previous home, but not that I moved in queens I still come here to get my hair done. Ada is always listening to my requests, helping me to decide the best styling and never disappoints!
I had a bad experience here. I called beforehand to schedule a blowout and told them I have long, fine hair - after which they said it would be $40. I arrived at the scheduled time, had to wait 25 min, and then the girl who washed my hair kept saying “this is too much hair, too much” and it made me feel self conscious. Another woman did my blow out and kept asking if she could flat iron it afterwards, even though I told her my hair wouldn’t hold the curls. She said “I’ve done this before” and did it anyway. My hair looked okay at the end - nothing special. When I went to pay, they charged me $53! It was the same woman I spoke with on the phone, and she said I “lied about my hair type” even though the woman who did it said more than once that my hair is thin and straightens well and that they had to charge me extra for the curling iron - which I didn’t even want and refused multiple times! I hate feeling scammed when I make a point to ask for the price beforehand, and then they charge me extra when it’s done without mentioning that certain services cost more BEFORE doing them. The results weren’t any better than what I could do myself. I don’t recommend this place unless you want to pay more for a mediocre job!
Sonya is an INCREDIBLE colorist & stylist!! I have been seeing her for 16 years & get compliments from friends and strangers on my short cut & amazing sun kissed balayage highlights. The staff are all so much fun, every appt. is a treat!
I have started to have my weekly wash and blow dryer at this salon. The staff are so helpful. My hair last for the entire week which is amazing. Overall a very good blow dryer and experience,
If you are looking for a great place to get your hair done, this is the place to go. The people that work here are always very polite, knowledgeable, and talented. My favorite stylist is Mario.
I have never written a review before - ever. If there was lower rating, I would give it to this place. Would have been better to have cut my own hair My first words in the chair were "this is how I like my hair, I just want it shorter, and it's been 6 weeks since my last haircut". My hairdresser spoke with another hairdresser the whole time, until she asked me when was my last haircut see first sentence. I made a suggestion and she tried shooting me down, but finally did it. The experience gets worse.. but I'm going to cut myself off here Hope this saves someone a bad hair day/month
To Whom it May Concerns: From the first time I went in there I didn't feel welcome. I've taken my daughter in there about four times and Its always the same feeling. I guess because I am not white I am viewed differently. I see other people walk in and is greeted with warm smiles and how are you. The only reason why I go back there is because I have an Autistic daughter and Marisol does my daughter's hair so well. I hope to see changes soon or I might just take my daughter back to Whiteplains New York. Thanks
