Pretty nice wooded campground on the Little Creek Amphib base. It's pretty small but has over 45 full hookup sites, including cable TV, and some primitive camp sites also. The RV sites have level concrete pads, but the access roads are rather narrow so so if you have a long rig it can be difficult to get into the site. They do have a small shower house and laundry for longer term campers.
FHU sites, tight but nice, felt good being among fellow veterans! New to Famcamp but very impressed with ease of making reservations and level concrete sites! Free laundry, older bathhouse but adequate and clean!
I love how spacious it is between campers. Updated water and electric hook-ups, level concrete pad, no cable connection we use our antenna, picnic table, bath house, and laundry. It's within walking distance to the beach 1.4 miles, NEX 1.1. There's no bike rental so if walking is not your thing, have alternate means. Uber is not an option on post. You'll have to walk to the gate Gate #5, because gate #3 is not pedestrian friendly nor allowed. There's no fenced in dog area but, right across their entrance is a nice trail. Now, this place could do better. I only wish I had hedge trimmer to trim the area around their entrance sign and street marker. Also, to trim areas of the trail that have informational placard in the nature watch trail across the street. Typical Navy base where infrastructure is not priority. But, we will definitely return to this nice and quiet place. Oh, and for public transit, you'll have to walk off base to catch the bus that runs every hour. Update: we are back after a year. I'm changing my rating from a four start to a two star. This place has not changed at all. Still good for retirees but for Service Members that live in this park, it's a disgrace. Shower drains slow, when it rains, the streets floods. Ladies bathhouse door does not lock, and if it does, there's no code to unlock it. Only maintenance done here is grass cutting. Our active duty force deserves better. If this were housing, it would be in the news.
I just checked in after a long day and people have gathered next to me. I am on site 38.It is 830 at night Loud, loud and loud. Not even trying to keep there voices down. This is what happens in these military base parks with no over site on management or rules. The camp host and managers get to familiar dont care who they disturb. Update..after I talked to the camp host one of the punk residents or visitors from that group gunned their motor very loud and it it now 1045pm. The manager called me 24 hours later and settled with me. That was very professional of him....however this campground is dirty and should be closed. My suggestion is to remove all workers or DOD personal since they have no rules to follow, remove most of the trees and use it for active duty only personal. The camp host was very welcoming but has become to familiar and does not care to enforce rules since he lives there. I recommend this be done ASAP. Don.....former Sgt...USMC
NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE TIME. Extremely over priced for an unkept full of pot holes that shake and ruin rvs. 45 hookups with no cable or satellite and horrible internet. huge rocks in front oh the bathhouse that are easy to hit and mess your trucks up. 1 washer and two dryers that work some of the time. Stayed for 3 months and it's $1,110 for 30 days. the staff is completely unhelpful. they have done nothing to fix the amenities the potholes the 1 washer that's not been fixed in the 3 months i've been here and the 6 months before that from other campers. JAN-2023
$$$$ At $47 a night not a great deal. Amenities not maintained. Only 1 washing machine. No cable TV been down since renovation.
Park is a great place to stay. Only needs a little TLC. To make it perfect
I was surprised at the tents sites. This was my first time here and I took a Scout troop. The residents are friendly bringing us firewood throughout the weekend. Base is slow on the weekend which made it a great time to hike around, slowly exploring the base.
Site pads, hookups and wifi were ok, but the oneway narrow roads within the campground need to be repaired correctly. Lots of ruts and potholes, with poor drainage large puddles everywhere. Potholes were full of stones as a temporary repair, most were spread about the road. There are holes in the grass too making it difficult to navigate when setting up camp.
I brought my toy hauler out and stayed for three days. I met some really nice people and really enjoyed my stay. It's a basic campground with full hook-ups. My pad was nice and flat as the majority of them are. I love the peacefulness out there. Having a decent bathroom and laundry was amazing. The sites are clean, generally and even has firepits next to the pad for those nights you want to sit back and toast marshmallows with the fam. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet and friendly people.
