I have been to Local 66 several times, and every time, I left happy. The first time was during Portland Mercury Wing Week 2018, where the smoky and sweet, but mildly spicy Marionberry Bourbon BBQ wings were easily one of my favorites of the eleven that I tried. On my second visit, I tried the Godfather French dip with steak fries and found it to be very satisfying. Another recent visit, I had the best club sandwich that I have ever had. What impressed me the most, however, was the exceptional service I received on each occasion from Tony.
Local 66 has been a neighborhood go-to for a few years now, housing two pool tables. What keeps me coming back is Heather, the bartender and personality of the bar. Her hair is always on-point, and she is conversational and friendly. I can never remember the name of her specialty cocktail, but it has Pear Vodka and Elderflower, and it is perfectly made. It has a sweet taste to it, but as someone who doesn’t like sweet cocktails, it isn’t overly so. She has highlighted the drink in other locales she has worked throughout the country and east coast - Yes Boss! If you’re looking for a traditional low-light bar, with pool, games, and music, Local 66 is a great choice. And even if you aren’t, swing in and try Heather’s elderflower cocktail! *im assuming pronouns sorry! loud bar plus masks and limited hearing ability
So I came for the pastrami because I love it and the picture that was posted for nacho week and what I got wasn't even close, 5-6 small piece and that was it, this could have been called vegetarian dish almost. Nice staff and 4 pool tables and video poker.
Bartenders know how to make a great drink, the cooks can cook one hell of a meal, and they have got the best burgers I have ever tasted. 2 diamond pool tables, and clean restrooms which is always a plus. Besides the owners pretty cool.
My mother hosted a birthday party there tonight. It included drinks, pool, and karaoke. The food was amazing, like way too good to simply be considered bar food. Truly surprising to find such a cool place in that part of town. It deserves more recognition.
Very laid back atmosphere. Visited for pool and there are 3 tables present. Enjoyed the burgers and seasoned tots. Will be back.
My brother, and I went to check out this little bar for the first time. Both of us recently moved to the Portland area within the last year. We're exploring as much as we can. It was a cute spot, not a lot of people. Chilled and talked to the regulars.
I love this place!! I came in for an early dinner and a few rounds of pool, I ordered the Santa fe burger and was absolutely not disappointed. The Cajun tots were perfectly crispy and the burger is expertly balanced in flavors and textures, it was perfect from one side of the bun to the other. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. Tony is an awesome dude who can run a bar and play a mean game of pool. Zach really knows how to serve it up and I will be coming back again on his shifts. Local 66 is the spot in SE and if you drive by stop in and say hi. You'll be glad you did.
Great food. Pool tables are flat and level and pay by the hour. No more walking around pulling your pants up because you have all those pesky quarters pulling them down. If you were better at pool you would need less quarters. This is the place to practice losing, fill your stomach with great food, drink great drinks, and enjoy the experience of the saucy-est bartender H. And the guy that works for her T.
This Place is the best! Warm and inviting! Tony is hands down one of the best in the customer service industry. The FOOD is AMAZING!!! Pulled Pork EXCELLENT!!! Burgers AMAZING! Drinks ON POINT! Pool Tables are DIAMOND!!! Thank you Tony for providing a Clean, Safe, and Loving environment!
