Nice apartments but over priced, the lack of community and neighborly climate is depressing. The management team is incredibly rude to renters and fosters a hostile environment. The absence of understanding and people skills from the management team is a perfect example of why long term renters become miserable. The lack of negative reviews on google isn’t a surprise, tenant’s are bound to a contract restricting critical reviews of business practices here. Therefore, it’s hard to see a clear picture of the true opinions people actually have of living in these apartments. My advice to you...keep looking.
The good: The Lofts are very nice and well maintained in a conveinent area. I could walk actoss the street to Standard Diner or go 2 blocks and be at downtown. I love the hardwood, high ceilings, and huge windows. It feels very spacious and comfortable. Cleaning/maintenance staff is very nice. They will fix things that break ASAP and keep the complex well maintained overall. The bad: Management was the worst part of living here. I had 2 landlords, a male and female. They are unorganized and seem to not be on the same page pretty often, as they are pure opposites. For example, i lost my keys and was locked out of my apartment one night. I texted both landlords to see if they could help. The man replied he would be there in one hour, where he gave me a spare to make a copy of. The woman replied the next morning saying theres nothing she could do and I need a locksmith. This applies to their general demeanor and treatment of residents. If theres an issue, i recommend contacting the male for help. I did also spot cockroaches several times on the grounds. I only saw one inside my building once never in my apartment, but they gather on the grounds every once in a while.
I lived at the Albuquerque High Lofts for one year. I loved the idea of the location and wanted to give downtown Albuquerque a try. Here are the pros and cons of my experience: Pros - The area is rich in history and the building is very unique. The courtyard is beautiful and maintained. - Location is perfect if you like to walk to the movies, restaurants or bars. Cons - Management is rude. The lofts are managed by Edo Spaces. I found poor treatment to be consistent among Edo team members. Very, very disappointing. - If there is a maintenance issue that needs attention - you will basically never know when your apartment is going to be entered. It will be a mystery. Obviously they will enter during business hours, M-F, but there is no note left behind saying they entered and a description of what transpired. - Packages were stolen from outside my loft door. Keep in mind that you need a fob to enter into the building. - When I moved out, I completed a walk-thru with the maintenance manager. Upon receiving my deposit, I was penalized for items that were not noted on the original sheet I signed upon completion of the walk-thru. I don't mind paying for things if they require it prior to the new tenant moving in, but there were items not originally noted or agreed upon handwritten post-signature on the sheet. - I parked my car in a garage managed by Paradigm Parking. There were reports of vehicles being stolen from inside the garage which I thought was pretty secure. - The loft across from mine was broken into. I realize theft happens everywhere, but this was the first time I noticed an increase of these occurrences out of the five complexes I have resided in. So, just something to be weary of. My main issue lies with management. Good luck!
A lovingly reused historic High School building complex with classrooms converted to residential lofts. Luxury living in the heart of downtown, next to the commuter train and City bus station.
Unique. It’s fun to live in a place with history. Not cookie-cutter and close to restaurants and movies. Neighborhood is growing and adding walkable amenities by the week.
Absolutely beautiful building and lofts. Extremely nice management team. I'm very grateful to call the ABQ LOFTS my home!
