Probably the best lox bagel I’ve had in my life! They don’t skimp on the lox, which tastes super fresh. The bright burst of fresh dill adds that herbed taste in every bite. The bagel itself was toasted but perfectly soft, not chewy at all. I’m not a bagel connoisseur by any means but I really think this is an awesome bagel! One of the best I’ve had in all my visits to NYC. The staff are cool and nice as well! The pastries and other options looked awesome too : … I would get the lox bagel again and add onions next time. Soooo good! I ate half because I wanted to save it for later to enjoy again!
SOOO GOOD! Honestly the best bagel I have ever had. Literally can’t stop thinking how good it was. Perfect ratio, everything bagel super tasty with that bounce back texture that you need super nice staff. We sat outside and enjoyed the world going by. Highly recommend. 11/10
Busy Friday morning. Friendly and efficient staff. Lox, cream cheese, capers, dill. Lotsa stuffing, and bagel was good. Everything bagel with avocado was excellent.
One of my favorite bagel spots in all of NYC; I'd rank it up there with the famous Absolute Bagel in Upper West Side. I've had a few of their bagels, but their lox and cream cheese is by far my fave: get it on a whole wheat everything bagel with capers onions and tomatoes. Their iced coffee is really good too. I haven't had the friendliest interactions with some of the staff members some of the times that I've frequented, but it's an additional price in willing to pay.
Customer service is awful. What happened to the customer is always right? Ordered two bagels and both orders were wrong after a very long wait. When I told the lady at the register she agreed to replace one of the sandwiches and did so with the biggest attitude possible. Note to a company that decides to sell breakfast food: smile and be happy, for most part you are the first encounter for people starting their day. So important that you be a happy joyful kick start to the people that come and start their days with you.
The bagels here are disappointing. I’ve come here multiple times, often to pick up a bag of bagels — and the bagels lose their freshness so quickly and often go stale within 1-2 days. Nothing special here really, it’s just the only bagel shop in the immediate vicinity. If you’re looking for a fresh high quality NY bagel, just walk a few blocks over to Franklin Ave or even better, to Washington Ave.
There was a roach in my lemonade. I called several times and no one answered.
This place has frantic, urgent energy on a Saturday morning as they hustle to fulfill orders. Invigorating. Love the bagels, chai latte, and vibe. Small window bar with stools indoors, and tables on the sidewalk.
The bagels are inconsistent. When they are good, they are one of my fav bagels in Brooklyn. But sometimes they tend to not be as fresh usually on the weekends which is just a bummer. Their coffee is amazing tho. Both hot and iced.
BEC is pretty tiny for the price $10 Tasty tho
