Main Drag Music

I live on the East Coast of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Area. There are plenty of guitar and music stores here but mostly big store stuff. When I travel to NYC, they have big stores as well but a few smaller shops that I always make it point to stop in and look around because they have that "special feel" when you walk in. Main Drag Music has that feel when you walk. Not too big, not to small and they have a good selection of items and friendly staff. I'll nit pick when deserving or I dont like something but I spent over an hour walking around and there was nothing to dislike. I bought a few things and now that my son goes to a nearby college, I always make it a point to stop in Main Drag.

One of the greatest music stores out there, I make a point to visit even time I come to Brooklyn. With an always excellent selection of guitars, basses, synths, and amps you're bound to find something that catches your eye. Their drum and percussion section seems extensive and they've helped us appraise vintage drums ve've found at yard sales. They have two sound isolated booths for testing equipment, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Main Drag seems to particularly specialize in keyboards, synths, and effects which puts them a cut above any corporate music store.

The Mecca! If I were to take a star away it'd be because I get frustrated in here, wanting to own everything they've got. Great people selling amazing gear.
