The owner is elderly and has been in business for many years - renting and selling instruments and making repairs (also, the rental cost is very inexpensive).
His shop is small...and looks very cluttered because he has lots of instruments.  But he easily finds the one he is looking for. His business is a great service for families of new music students who need to rent in their early years of music lessons. 
We highly recommend Universal Musical Instrument!

My son broke the bridge on his Cello UNIVERSAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS replaced the bridge for a fraction of the cost every other musical store in Manhattan charged. Yes, his store is a mess but what does that matter?! He gets the job done fast or on the spot and it's done well.  He even sells instruments.
