Martin RV Rentals

Awesome place. Much much MUCH better than RVRentals. I have rented everything from a full size class C to a 17 ft travel trailer. Every year we got to Grass Point State Park in upstate NY (on the St. Lawrence) for a huge family reunion. Never disappoint. Will continue renting from them until I die.

We rented from Martins rental and many things were not as described or not working. Two of the beds were not usable and the stove fan did not work so it was tough to do much cooking without smelling our food the rest of the day. The water was not filled so we ran out of water. We had the RV parked for 3 days at the farm complex and were depending on the shower and the ability to cook. We went and bought a piece of wood so another bed was usable. We returned the camper to the rental lot and it had a flat tire. Based on the maintenance of the RV we were not shocked that the tire was old and were relieved we got it back to the lot before it went. Martins did not refund any money for the inadequacies of the trailer and yes you guessed it....charged us, or should I say overcharged us, for the old tire so he could get a nice new one. I gave him a chance to make it right but he chose to keep our money and some of our deposit for a camper that was not as described. I would not take my chance with this one again! Next year we will look elsewhere.

BE SURE YOU GET THEM TO GIVE YOU KEY DETAILS IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME RENTING A CAMPING TRAILER! I HOPE WHAT HAPPENED TO US NEVER HAPPENS TO ANYONE AGAIN. When we picked up our unit (which we really did like overall) we emphasized that this is our first time pulling one and setting up. They (2 young people) gave us an "overview" of the trailer which was not all accurate by the way. We then asked "Have you told us everything we need to know?" They said yes. They left out one important item which caused the refrigerator/ freezer to not work. Here is probably the most important thing we needed to know… BE SURE YOU LEVEL THE TRAILER OR IT WILL NOT WORK! They left this important detail out (even after we emphasized that we were first timers) and I called three different people about our warm fridge, the first of which did not even mention this. Then the other two who are in charge said "well you should have known, that it's common knowledge". There was no apology or "sorry this has happened to you". They were callous, arrogant and not willing to admit that they should have told us... after food was spoiled and we were upset about how it affected our time. We asked what they were going to do to make this right. We felt hurt especially when a certain manager said they are not going to do anything and in closing stated "sounds good... have a nice day".. what?! SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER 3 LONG CALLS AND NO SATISFACTION. BY NOW WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT TOGETHER A BRIEF SHEET OR TWO FOR FIRST TIMERS WITH KEY INFORMATION LIKE THIS. THE BOOK IN THE UNIT DOESN'T EVEN MENTION THIS KEY POINT UNDER "REFRIGERATOR". Also.. our keys wouldn't lock the unit to secure our valuables when we were away so we had to keep putting things in our car.. even going to the bathroom! To top it all off we ran out of water after 24 hours… Seeing the gray water was 1/3 full, black water near empty and freshwater now empty they obviously did not fill the freshwater tank all the way. Again that certain manager said "well we filled it up before it left our shop." How could he say that if he didn't know for sure? This sent me scrambling for hoses to fill up our fresh water tank again. We will not recommend this rental company to anyone.

The staff could use some training in Customer service. At no time was I made to feel appreciated. I was surprised by the $750 security deposit. It seemed like I was doing them a service, rather than the other way around. The unit we rented was nice, and provided us with what we were looking for. Felt like the rates were surprisingly affordable.

We have used Martins for our family RV trips for three years now and have referred others to Martins also. Great family run business with fair prices for RV rentals. They even offer to deliver and pick up RV at your house for an extra fee, we sign up for that convenience each time. Best RV rental prices in mid to south east PA! If you have a family and are looking to rent a Class C RV - I suggest asking for a bunk bed/double slide out Class C RV that they offer - we love that style!
