Below average price for NYC, average portions, average taste. Had an iced latte to go, taste wise was a bit thin and didn't have strong enough flavours, but was overall ok given the price point. No issue with service, and got my coffee quick.
Best coffee spot in the area. Baked goods for very reasonable price. Small quiche..Nice seating area inside and outside. Friendly barista.
So glad that I discovered another coffee franchise in NYC that has good coffee, but what’s even better is that their prices are relatively reasonable compared to most other places here. Liked my cold brew and need to try something else next time!
Breakfast is complimentary for staying in The Renwick. Definitely a bonus! A great start every morning with coffee & pastry from Matto. Do try almond croissant & pistachio muffin
Great concept! $2 for each item. The coffee is genuinely good, but for the price it’s unbelievable. There’s not much seating, but there’s some high stools against the wall - reasonable considering they’re going for turnover. The selection of pastries and snacks is broad. It’s a perfect pre-work snack or early afternoon pick-up.
MATTO is BY-FAR my favorite grab-n-go place around. I usually just get their chai latte when one of my colleagues does a coffee run and had never visited the store myself. Every one at work has been raving about this place and the fact that everything is just $2 excluding tax. I finally decided to come check out this place myself. I asked for the Nutella shell after the amazing things my colleagues had to say about it. The guy directly put into into a bag, so make sure to mention you'd like it "toasted" if you would. He was then toasting it for me when I pulled out my card and I was told - minimum $4 for card. I then noticed the sign that says that. I was going to get another Nutella shell, when the owner walks up ", and says: "Just get one if you need only one". We then chatted for a few about the store and I mentioned how amazing my colleagues and I think this place is. Not only is it great value for money, but great tasting too. Absolutely delighted with the variety of items in this store and the hospitality. Most definitely going back, with cash. ; :
This place is just *chefs kiss* in terms of being what in Puerto Rico we call the three b's, though in English I guess it would be something like CGB; cheap, good and beautiful. Also pretty chill and personable.Food: 5/5
I had a cappuccino. You can’t beat the price and if you use Ritual app, it’s even cheaper. It’s a small cafe but really cute and clean. Everyone was super friendly. They have milk out and it wasn’t too busy in the afternoon.
Coffee was great, service was not. There were consistently one or two women working here when we visited. We had free coffee/tea cards from our hotel, which seemed to annoy these ladies even though we always tipped cash and I ordered other items on one occasion. The attitudes just seemed unnecessary.
Get the best breakfast meal- refreshing drinks @ Matto. Their sandwiches and muffins are so good and healthy. A lot of options for coffee lovers. Healthy breakfast for an affordable price. Stars exceeded
