Spotted this place just across the street from the hotel we stayed at. Turned out it was simple and delicious. A quick pickup meal before heading out to do other things. Menu is basically dishes and bowls centered around rotisserie chicken with cold sides in the refrigerator. Also have quarters and halves of rotisserie chicken by itself. Only a couple of tables inside so it's intended mostly for takeout.
The place is amazing! The food is incredibly flavorful and french. We had a whole chicken and it's GMO , non hormone, natural, etc. I think the chicken got glad to be in the rotisserie because of the great life it had. We found this place by chance on our last day in NY and I honestly think it's the best for french casual food. We had a whole chicken with ratatouille, steamed broccoli, brown rice and mashed potatoes with kale. Great place and very nice people! Thank you -
Got the Chicken Provençal with roasted potatoes. We got takeout and it was super quick. Portion size was average and the food was very flavorful.
Tiny portion of chicken which costs 11.48+tax. Poor quality as you can see in the pho... I came happily and opened the box with great disappointment.
A small rat at the restaurant tried to climb in my hair and feed me a plate of ratatouille. I found it odd at first, but the food was delicious! I talked to him more and he was eager to share how he became the restaurant's head chef. Apparently his name is Remy. We shared contact information and he has been sending me pictures of his dishes and even recipes ever since! TLDR: Excellent service and high quality food. Edit: The picture below is of my rat friend! Once again, the restaurant was lovely.
Authentic French flavors. Very well spiced. But the sandwich specials disappointed. Only 2 taters and a sad amount of gravy in a Sammich with no cheese made me sad. But still gets a 4 for delivering a tasty meal. Just not a filling one.
That might be the best rotisserie chicken sandwich I've ever had! Holy moley!!! As the name suggests, the ratatouille is to die for. And don't leave without trying the desserts, especially the Pastel de Nata which is pure heaven. The lady who serves you couldn't be more lovely, and I want to eat here every day!
The Chicken Provence is a hidden little gem in the bustling center of Murray Hill. It is a short walk from Grand Central and well worth it. You can get a whole bunch of different options from Sandwiches to wraps. The chicken is what is flawless. So tender and juicy you can tell they really know how to do a good rotisserie style roast. I was very happy because this place was right across from my hotel. They have very fresh ingredients and the service was good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves good chicken meat. When you compare it to Mcdonalds or fast food chicken it does not even compare. One is juicy and tender and the other is fake. Take a guess which one.
One of the best lunch options around. Absolutely fresh and amazing chicken and delicious sides. I had the Bowl with mashed potatoes and it was no less than superb. Also tried the Chicken Rotisserie sandwich and it was no doubt the best hot sandwich I've ever had. There is only one large table inside, so not much room to sit in, it's mostly take out. But the price and the quality are worth every penny.
Great food. Super nice owner. Nice location. As a family, we love to split a whole chicken and some sides and sit outside.
