Mavericks Mexican Grill

I'm a fan. Friendly family run. Good outside covered eating area when it's warm and heated when not. Carne asada is really tasty. Fish and shrimp tacos really good. Their salsa excellent.

Been on a Mexican food kick lately so today after church I pulled out my “favorite” Yelp App and searched nearby Mexican food. Mavericks caught my eye. As we walked inside, a beautiful Miral on the ceiling caught my eye. The place looked very clean and well kept. “I believe” the owner was talking our orders. Wifey in her usual undecisive slash can I add this and not have that on my food self was asking the owner all kinds of questions. He in a funny way was giving her Smart Alec answer “it was all I could do not to bust out in laughter” this guy is quick witted and funny. “5 stars” wifey ordered a breaded Halliburton chimichanga, and I ordered a chimichanga de carne “both come with a deep fried shell with guacamole sour cream and pico de gallo on top. My Chimi was super delicious 5 stars. I tried wifey’s breaded Halibut and was not a fan “Halibut was way over cooked or possibly frozen” 2.5 stars tops. Side note they have the most refreshing water with lime in it. They give you warm tortilla chips with homemade salsa, so good. Overall even though the Halibut Chimi was not my favorite, everything else was stellar “4 stars is a solid rating”

Everything was going fine. Perfect weather. Sat outside and ordered our food. Everything was fine untill everyone in my table got their food except me. I waited 20 minutes untill I finally went to go ask. Also the table next to me said they had forgotten an order of theirs. The same order they forgot last time they were here. CRAZY!!! THEY LACK attention to detail and back of the house looks like they dont care. I work in hospitality so I'm train to recognize this. Overall the food was ok afterwards but the wait diminished my experience. But hey that's just my opinion. Good thing my phone takes good pictures lol

Pleasant experience with delicious food and friendly people. I loved the halibut tacos. Will come back again.

This was the first time that my two daughters and I had come here for dinner and I definitely plan on frequenting Mavericks Mexican Grill my new favorite! Everyone was so friendly, the experience was more like being welcomed into their home rather than just being a customer. I'm usually a little picky when it comes to Mexican food but I was pleasantly surprised! The food was so fresh and flavorful! It had authentic homemade Mexican flavor! Everything we ate was fabulous and I highly recommend Mavericks Mexican Grill you won't be disappointed!!!!

WOW!!!! The food, atmosphere, and service was just phenomenal!!! We were immediately greeted with a smile and a warm welcome! We were given these menus that were full of mouthwatering sounding food that made it near impossible to choose just one. We went to the front to order from an amazingly sweet woman who gave us our number and we returned to our table. We knew from the moment we tasted the salsa that this was going to be delicious. As a fellow chef, I have learned how difficult it can be to maintain a sense of consistency in regards to flavour, but Maverick's has mastered it. We continued to eat well past being full and STILL had to take food home. I must say I will definitely frequent this place now that I have had a taste! And I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you give this place a try.

Super friendly folks working here. Looks a bit more worn in than the last time we were here but the food was still great. There was a mural or menu on the wall that is kind of plain now. I long for a scallop burrito but had to settle for shrimp. Shrimp special burrito was terrific. Steak Fajitas were a little under seasoned but happily not over salted. Complimentary chips were a good vessel for the tasty salsa. If you are on the fence, hop over and come grab some of the best seafood burritos around.

Stopped here on my way through San Jose on business. Great atmosphere, clean, and delicious food. Chips are fresh, salsa is just right, and the fajita was very good! It seems like a family owned business and they are very friendly! Would recommend.

I actually rated this place 6 stars but had to knock one off for not being in my neighborhood. Mavericks is legit good. Do not hesitate, just go there already. The whole team there is awesome and nice, but you care about the food. Well, lemme tell you that the food is even better than you will expect upon entering this nondescript place. It tastes fresh and looks amazing. The price is right and the portions are perfectly sized. Even though Mavericks is way out of my way, I will be back and often.
