I just recently moved into Mears Park in October and I love it. When I moved in I was gifted all of the necessities I needed ie. toilet paper paper towels, etc. They also gifted me a basket with coffee and mugs to go with it. During my move I needed grace in a few areas and they had no problem helping me out. Property management is kind and always willing to help.
At first I was really upset because I’ve needed to get help with heating every year. It took over an hour for a technician to come and help and I was freezing. But then I realized how busy Seth was and he stayed to help. I just wish there were more staff to help so that it didn’t take over an hour to get my heat fixed.
I lived here 1 year Pros : Decent price for area Mostly left alone Got most of security deposit back Cons: Window replacement project was a bit loud and dragged on for a while Didn't offer option to renew lease for full yearoption to do monthly.
From the tour of my apartment, to moving in & maintenance requests the team at Mears Park place has been wonderful! I have never had such a wonderful experience with leasing/ office staff and I look forward to living here a long while. I’ll update this review when I move out to provide a more extensive review of the living/ move out experience. So far I highly recommend living here!
Not updated at all for how much they’re charging!!!! Managemnet is good, we use to stay at the galtier towers as well! super friendly people who live here as well and everything is pretty close. Only thing I will say is the a/c is awful in the summer be expected to pay around $150-200 if you don’t wanna be sweatingand if you run it expect your bill to be high, and heat in our apartment had gone out already twice in our apartment in the middle of winter when it’s been below 0°. Another thing, also be aware of loud music and just loud people in general above you, many complaints have been put and nothings done. Also if you do laundry here make sure that you stay down there or make sure you check it right when it’s done otherwise others will take your laundry out and set it out to the public. Not okay in my opinion but…also if you plan on moving here don’t get a sectional took us 6 hours to even get it up and we didn’t even use the moving elevatorwhich is tiny ash we had to walk around the whole building and management was no help in telling us where anything was had to ask the residents half the time.
I lived at Mears for 4 years. My experience was pretty good. I had a private entrance, the walls are really thick and I didn’t hear my neighbors, with the exception of a few times when one decided to have a screaming match with their partner. I never had a problem with my neighbors, although some can be nosey. The park is right across the street, and this is where you’ll take your dog, although I wish they had an area inside the courtyard for dogs. Pre-COVID, many free events were held at the park. They have a locked mailroom and a Luxor room for packages, never had a problem with stolen packages. Underground parking is pretty pricey, but I never had a problem with break-ins, and I always felt safe going down there. Maintenance was good. The cons: Downtown Saint Paul is not very exciting. The main elevator and exiting garage door broke down a lot. Apartment was not updated, and although it was a studio, it was small with a high price. A few times there were homeless people sleeping in the corridor. The bus station is right in front of the apartment so you do hear the bus and sometimes people yelling for it. Although I only saw this once, I did see a man standing inside the bus shelter and urinating. All in all I would say my experience was good.
Pretty good place to live. Not too expensive although my room is on the cheaper end but it's a nice studio for what I'm paying for. Parking is a bit pricey but it's worth it to have in downtown and it will be nice especially when winter comes around. Maintenance is pretty quick when things break down. They recently replaced the washing machines and dryers. Staff is kind and helpful too.
Maintenance was up to fix my problem about 30 minutes after I put in the order. She did a fabulous job fixing my dishwasher. In the 20 years I have lived here the maintenance team have been wonderful...Thank you..
I've been living here for the past 2 years and just resigned a new lease to stay longer. Being downtown there are many exciting restaurants and events to attend, particularly in the summer. The neighborhood is safe where I feel comfortable running around the block. Also, the management team in the office is nice, easy to work with, and willing to help you with any concern. I enjoy living at Mears Park Place.
I am 73 and moved here 3 months ago. The management staff is wonderful, all are professional, polite, helpful and friendly. They are very responsive to requests for "fixes" and for information about where to go and what to see. The maintenance men, Doug and Seth, are very responsive too, with same day service and are always pleasant. This concrete building is almost "sound proof" and neighbors are pleasant. You can't beat the location for easy walking to Mears Park for music, the Farmers Market, the Light Rail, and buses. I bike along the River which is just a few blocks away on a wonderful bike path separate from car traffic. The underground parking is worth the cost and has a secure bike gage for my new bike. This building is not slick and new but, they work hard to maintain it and update the apartment flooring and/or appliances when needed. It is always clean and well tended inside and out. The patio is being redone and will be great when finished.
