I purchased my first wheelchair in the 1990s from Rusty at Medical Technology. I had a very positive experience. I did have private insurance at the time and paid the 20% copay myself. It was a $8000 wheelchair. I had to buy another wheelchair in January of 2017. I only had Medicare and Q.M.B.. This chair had multiple problems from the start. The foot rest would fall and hit the back of my legs when transferring making it a fall hazard for me. Also the battery would not charge. The seat came unsewen all within the first month. They did come and change the battery out and repair the foot rest. They NEVER addressed the seat coming unsewen. Also the seat collapsed on the left side about month 2 of my having it. I called and text Rusty several times but these 2 problems were never corrected. I moved to Baton Rouge in early August. When I called then, the excuse for not servicing it was I was out of their service area. I was in their service area from January 2017 until August 6, 2017. A company from New Orleans is having to order a new seat for it. I am extremely disappointed in this company and would never use them again.
