Meg O’Malleys Restaurant & Irish Pub

The 1-star rating is for tonight only because we genuinely love Meg's. But, tonight you were a major letdown. Our daughter was home from college for one week and Meg's was on her must-do list. We called ahead and got confirmation you served the full menu until 10pm, and arrived and were sitting at 9:40 but were handed the horribly foreshortened late night menu anyway. We very politely told the waitress we had just been explicitly told you would serve full menu until 10pm, and instead of asking a manager or checking with the kitchen she just pointed to the late night menus in front of us and said, "guess you didn't make it in time." We've been patrons since the day you opened, and have literally, *LITERALLY* spent thousands of dollars at Meg's over the years. Some stew and corned beef and cabbage dinners 20 minutes before you (supposedly) switch to the bar menu doesn't seem like an extreme request for loyal patrons who have been supporting you for two decades. We didn't presume anything. We were told by your staff the kitchen would be open and the full menu would be available until 10pm. Here's to a great run at any rate!

I came here attempting to keep my expectations in check as it appeared to be a pub. Having dined in, service greeted me warmly and saw to it that my visit was pleasant and memorable. I started with the scotch egg appetizer which was a nice way to start as I found it tastey and well cooked. I then ordered the pot roast which was absolutely amazing and each member of my party agreed it was the best we have ever had. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. I would say this stop is ideal for those looking for comfort food or a quick bite in a comfortable dimly-lit atmosphere with great service. I come here every time I am in the area and it appears to be a staple with the locals.

I would like to give a bad review ONLY because I want to keep this gem to myself. I love this restaurant! My kids enjoy it and they are so picky! We got to sit outdoors and enjoy the fresh Florida weather. It gets really busy evenings and weekends, but it's worth the wait. So no, do not go here. Stay away, so that my wait to get in is shorter... 😉

Best Irish Pub I've ever been in! Authentic Irish food. Elegant yet casual. Cozy booths. Great drinks. Fabulous service! The only thing negative I can say about it is that it is a bit cavernous, therefore loud.

We go out often and have experienced a lot of dining in cereal Florida. Not only is this the top Irish bar/ restaurant that area but it's also our total number one from Tampa to Jacksonville. I hate to post this as it may lead to a longer wait for us but they truly deserve it. Must try is the .19 cent soup, pattymelt, and of course the biggest and best poured Guinness. Sit at the bar and you'll find out why their bartenders have been there for years. They are the best!
