The Pub Orlando

Came mid-afternoon, restaurant was pretty quiet. Waitress and staff were friendly, food and drinks came in just minutes. We ordered a Welsh Dip and a Crispy Chicken sandwich. Both were incredible! The pretzel bun on the dip sandwich was an excellent surprise. The sauce and bacon on the perfectly-made chicken was an amazing combination. Tab came to less than a lot of the surrounding competition and I felt like I got a lot more for it. They'll even validate your parking for the garage! Definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu. A new Orlando favorite.

We decided to check out the pub after a convention we were at, around 7pm on a Thursday. The Pub was minorly busy, but having worked in Restaurants my entire life, they were severely overstaffed for the amount of dining guests. When the waitress took 11 minutes to take our drink order, we should have known the experience was not going to be wonderful. Cheri was friendly, but slurred some of her words like she’d had a couple of shots before taking our order. She did not write anything down, but repeated our order back to us. Mine she said correct, but we corrected her on what my partner was having. 40 minutes later, the food came out. It had been sitting in the window for enough time that the cheese had congealed... and funny enough, my food was wrong. She came back after I’d had a manager grab me the correct order, citing its loud in a pub and she must not have heard me correctly. She came back once more right after the right food was delivered to ask if that was better? By then my drink was empty... she only returned once we were both finished eating... but by then it had been 14 minutes since we’d completed our dinners. In that time, every server and both managers had walked past our table... not a single one offered to take our empty plates or refill my beverage. In all my 20+ years working in food service, I have never worked in a restaurant where the wait staff was not helpful to each other... when we were ready for our check, she had to be waved down and asked for it. She did ask why my partner hadn’t finished his food.... by then it had been 1.5 hours from beginning to end of service. We were ready to pay and leave. I don’t think we would eat here again.

Aside from the rather graphic show from the older couple practically dry humping at the bar, this place is amazing. The food was excellent, that was by far the best fried fish sandwich I have ever had. Our watriess was friendly and able to answer our questions. The decor of the place was also pleasant. I adore the mismatched chairs.

Beer was great. Food was good. The 5 stars goes to the bartenders/wait staff. The service at this place is fantastic. Owners should be proud of their staff. I am in town for work and I realize that this town is built around the hospitality industry. However, of all the places I've been in Orlando, this was one of the friendliest (and that includes the Disney parks and resorts). It's refreshing to see such good service these days.

I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and flavorful the food was. Our Brit friend really enjoyed the food, and said it was "pretty good". We were very confused on why the servers all wore kilts and why the Shepherd Pie was covered in gooey cheese. This place is not really authentic, but the food is pretty tasty.
