Meridian Fire & Security LLC

Do not use Meridian Fire & Security. I used them in a rental house and did not know the tenants changed the alarm system without permission. Meridian stopped receiving any contact from the alarm system in October 2017 and never called me to tell me there but a problem but continued to bill me. I discovered the problem in January 2018 and called Meridian to find out why they never contacted me. They would not refund any of the money they charged me and kept telling me it was my own fault for not checking the alarm system. I kept asking them directly "What service am I paying you for?" and they literally would not admit that monitoring my alarm system is part of their alarm monitoring service, they just kept telling me it was my fault for not checking the system. When I tried to cancel they made it very difficult. At first they flatly refused to cancel until I paid them for an additional month of service. So in the end I had to pay for 4 months without receiving any service for it.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I moved out of state and requested to have my equipment removed from my house on April 2. We sold the house on April 20th and they still hadn't removed the equipment. 2 months later and I still don't have service because I don't have equipment at my new address and no one at Meridian can tell me how to resolve the issue. I'm still being charged for services that I don't have. And since I'm in contract, it still has to be paid.....even though they failed to removed the equipment and have it installed at my new home.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! If I could leave negative stars I would. We used the system one time, but due to the noises it made our dogs panic, so we were unable to use it. Calls to customer service go to voicemail and are not returned. Contact form no one responds to those either. We never got a hold of anyone for how to disable the alert chimes and now we have a sensor that is broken, the alarm system has not been used since we have had it with the exception of the one day. In order for someone to come out and help we have to pay for a service call in 15 minute increments.

Get a lawyer before signing anything! Honestly my fault but over the years of moving around this stuff becomes background noise. Some salesmen showed up and offered us a great deal compared to other providers. I specifically asked about military moves. I am retiring so those orders "don't count" and somewhere in the paperwork I agreed to a 5 year agreement! Options are to take it with you or pay out 80% of the contract! Basically loan sharking of security providers.

Alarm system broke. Was forced to pay 80% to get out of the contract or pay them to monitor nothing. What a scam. These guys are god damn terrible.
