MHS DBT, CBT, and Behavior Health Services - Woodbury MN

Amazing, professional, empathetic, and understanding staff! Currently attending adult DBT group 3x a week and my life has never been better! My group facilitators are such AWESOME, down-to-earth, relatable people. Would highly recommend this place to anyone struggling with mental health!

Inconsistency in staff made it difficult not to mention joining groups with many personalities that clashed which caused friction when rules were not the same in all groups example : cell phones used ALL the time in group which joined with others there's a trust factors the response from the fill in teacher from other person that runs her group was it's her coping tool......which were there to learn many things which I did.....Our facilitator was gone at least 1 time a week so with such inconsistency wore on many of us this has been for at least sense last year May a few weeks ago in a week 3 people left 2 of us were told we were not graduation material. .....wow ok.....so no credit for the growth I did make as my therapist would agree. I agree I have continued work to carry on with to get thing's put back together after working SO HARD to be a more productive person with skills which I an my group members agree the growth I have made along with my therapist’s. Have had some medical issues but have been able to use skills to brave through it! The day I was discharged and told I was not graduation material :-( I asked if it was happening that day was told yes. ....kinda like firing someone then expect them to finish there shift (group )...It felt like they took my air away I panicked .. a baseball bat to the head would have more calming then being told I was not graduation material. So all over this another client quit the following Thursday after the Tuesday deal with me. Then another set his graduation within days of all this taking place. When my team 2 therapist and a ARMHS worker looked at the graduation packet there were pretty met...I know I still have a ways to go this was giving me the jump start to dig into my childhood trauma as well as traumas in the last 3 years......I have such a hard time dealing with (doing things wrong) how do you think that bowed with me after 2 years of being there. If I was doing my treatment stuff wrong it was not spelled out very well! It's very hurtful and degrading how this all happened when the week before were putting a success plan together to prepare for graduation! It was one of the hardest self work I learned about myself that I tried my best......... :-( I would welcome a phone call to discuss this. We will see how the board of psychology feels about the ethics MHS follows.

Our child has 8 sessions under his belt at the time of this review. The intake and setting up appts went smoothly and with no issues. My wife and I participated in our first parent meeting and it went well too. My only complaint might be the lack of information we are getting on what our child is learning/working on...but that may very well be part of the program. Would recommend this program as the kids seem to take to it very well, my child included.

Bad staff that lets grown adults joke about poop. Won't stop people triggering others. Can't help people with mental health needs despite their needs. Avoid seeking help at this place.
