Miners' Colfax Medical Center

Stayed the night in Raton last night and the wife work up very sick. I took her to the ER today... still here...and the staff is very friendly and empathetic. Thank you to the nurses and staff. We are hopeful for a speedy recovery so we can get back to our vacation!!

Very rude people. Very slow. If your having a baby and are from Colorado I recommend going to Pueblo Colorado. You will receive better treatment

05/2018: I changed my review from 4 stars to 1. The billing issue has gotten so much worse. They are not doing anything to fix what they said they would. HOWEVER they still advertise themselves as approved with Aetna. ONLY the hospital and clinic charges are approved to be paid for by Aetna but not the doctors and staff. We were told by a billing admin who works there to just find another provider because they will not be adjusting our bill and would not be getting the issue fixed. I have found them to be unresponsive to calls and unhelpful. I will now be finding another provider. 08/2017: We have been seeing Dr. Kazmi for a little over a year now, he works in the clinic as a Pediatrician. And he has been nothing short of amazing. He has worked with us through my 1 years old's Jaundice at birth, now seeing my 3 year old. He does not judge me for my choices as a parent and he is smart, kind and empathetic. As far as another doctor I have seen there in the hospital when were staying for the Jaundice, he was lacking empathy, bed side manner and manners in general. The hos[ital itself is older but it is a good option if you need it. Billing has been a nightmare. I have Aetna and the hospital is a provider under Aetna, but what we found out after getting a $4,000+ bill was the staff was not under Aetna. It took work on my end but the hospital has worked to fix the error and reduced our bills to only our copay amounts, eating the remaining portion. This may have been a headache on my part BUT they really are doing their best to correct it. If it had not been for the one doctor I found distasteful and the slight headache with billing I would give Miners Colfax 5 stars.

Absolutely awful. Do Not go to this hospital unless you want to die. No joke. I was transported to sante fe hospital. They were going to vent me for no reason. Nurses are so rude. Just a huge mistake on our part. Everyone should be fired and start over.
