This place is an absolute disgrace. So many things wrong I don't know where to begin. It a filthy here and a lot of the staff members have the worst attitudes.. shut this place down already. I've been seen here, family members, friends and none of them walked out with any good to say. Not all staff is a joke. There are a few good workers.. but there is no professionalism or any productive "help" whatsoever.

I broke my back which was finally diagnosed at a later time. But they took an x-Ray said I was fine pumped me full of drugs and a charged of $10,000 and released me. Now I have chronic pain and can’t function as I used to.

I have always had good service at AVRH. The Emergency room was expensive, it seems to be, but service has always been good. Very personable, helpful, professional nurses. I am a "local" and have been there quite a few times.

I’m a past employee. My experience at Alta Vista was one of the most rewarding of my nursing career. For such a rural area of New Mexico, AVRH is a much needed Acute care hospital. The ED is staffed with some of the best I’ve ever worked with, from trauma to stumped toes. Recently, during icy weather, AVRH received up to 10 trauma patients due to a multiple car accident. The code was called. And nearly all hospital staff responded. Flown and ground transport to higher acuity care (i.e. Santa Fe cuz they needed it), casualties (families able to see loved ones that died), respect for those families by a team of professionals I will never forget. Thank you Alta Vista nurses, CNA’s, PT, RT, doctors, housekeepers, cafeteria workers, X-ray, lab, and the Lord knows who else deserves praise! Las Vegas community...life’s would be in jeopardy if this hospital was not possible!!
