This is how medicine was practiced in the Soviet Union. Not only was the medic Russian no kidding, but she expressed her annoyance that I was a walk-in. She said they don't take walk-ins, but the website says: "MinuteClinic is a walk-in clinic at 40% less the cost of urgent care". She said I should go elsewhere, named some other clinics, but I could not understand her heavy Russian accent. Good grief, CVS shut down this place or get serious about providing care to the sick.
I love the Minute Clinic MC model and I love Dupont Circle DC. Nurse Practitioner NP Christina was really great and if you have to wait for your appt this MC is the best location to wait in. So much fun stuff right around. I almost wana call it Minute Clinique.
There is no point going here is medical practitioners “don’t feel comfortable” providing medical care services. Apparently staff are unable to cut and pull a suture….advised me to do it myself with no medical training and sutures being BEHIND me and out of view
Unfortunately, though I had made an appointment two days beforehand, the kiosk was not allowing me to check in. When the doctor came out for the next patient, and I explained to her my situation, she immediately cut me off and said that there were others waiting, that she did not have the time, and when I told her I had made an appointment two days earlier and got to the clinic in plenty of time, I was not late, she said she was "only human" and then shut the door in my face. She also mentioned something about my appointment being too late in the day, however, I'm not sure why the time was offered, then also, the clinic was open for another hour, according to their hours. Either way, if that was the case that my appointment was too late in the day, I would've appreciated a kinder explanation, and the website/kiosk may need to be fixed to reflect that mistake in booking appointments. Mostly just amazed at the rudeness - absolutely won't be going back.
My wife and I stopped in this morning for some vaccinations for our upcoming trip. Our NP, Svetlana, was amazing. She took the time to find out our exact needs and even made a recommendation for vaccine administration that would reduce the likelihood of personal discomfort due to potential side effects. I highly recommend the MinuteClinic at the CVS in DuPont Circle. We will definitely go back, and suggest that others do the same.
People seem to only review things to hate, but I had about as good of an experience I could have expected here last weekend. Got there at 9, was out before 10 after having seen someone and receiving medicine for my sinus infection. Josephine, the nurse practitioner, was awesome. Hopefully I do not have to go back again soon, but I definitely would.
Monday morning, called MinuteClinic to get a flu shot. Said there system was updating and I would have to call back in 3 hours to schedule an appointment. I told them I only needed a flu shot, the woman on the phone said I didn't need an appointment for that and I could just walk in. Walked into the CVS at 6 Dupont Circle at 6:00PM and checked in for my flu shot. 1 hour wait, went and had a glass of wine while I waited at Bar Dupont. Returned at 7:00PM, still 22 minute wait, OK only one person ahead of me. When they called the person ahead of me the woman said that she couldn't give me a flu shot today because she was off in 20 minutes. I told her that I have been here for almost a hour and a half, her response was that she had been there since 8:30. She said I could come back in the morning, i told her that I would go somewhere else where they respect their customers. The bad attitude and poor customer service seems to be contagious at CVS, maybe they have a shot they could give the employees for that. I wish they would open a Walgreens in the neighborhood.
Svetlana, one of the nurse-practitioners, is an actual angel. She was kind and incredibly capable, and what had been a very stressful week was made immeasurably better by her expertise and help. I checked in online so there was no wait! Fantastic service, and having the pharmacy right next to the clinic is very helpful.
Walked in for a bad ear ache, entered my info into the kiosk and was seen less than half an hour later. Svetlana, the doctor, was excellent and efficient, as was the pharmacy staff in dealing with my insurance for the prescriptions. Thanks and kudos!
Keep away from this clinic, lowest work efficiency I have ever met. Just find another one.
