Mississippi Welcome Center

Excellent views and visitor info. Bathrooms aren't great and were out of soap when I was there. It was worth the stop for the pictures of the Mississippi River bridges though. The workers inside were very knowledgeable and friendly.

The only reason I would not give a five star rating is because it was closed for repairs when we were there. One part was sectioned off but the men working allowed us to go up to take pictures! That was exceptionally kind and generous! I hope we get another chance to stop when the construction is finished!

The Staff was friendly and helpful, but wee disappointed in the Park Service closing all outside sites and exhibits. All the people could do is apologize for the disrepair of the park. While there we got to see a barge that sank after hitting an even older sunken barge. Take your time and let these amazing people tell you the history of Vicksburg and guide you to the local sites. And Don't miss the Lower Mississippi River Museum. It's free and puts the Battlefield to shame!

A must see spot when crossing the mighty Mississippi River. Clean restrooms. Safe parking. Well attended. Very nicely stocked snack machines. The show stopper is the view of the river! Stunning!. Stretch your legs and feel the peace and the power of the river.

Hard to rate, absolutely gorgeous views of the old and new bridges over the Mississip but if you need a BATHROOM BREAK DO NOT STOP HERE!!! Instead I highly recommend you try a nearby restaurant, etc until they hire staff to keep the lavatories clean on a consistent basis. Sadly, I've been in much cleaner, remote and desolate truck stops with only 1 bathroom for both men and women.
