Montana Murray Kennels

There is nothing ordinary about the care our dog receives from Ron and the great staff at Murray Kennels. Smokey stays with his extended family three days a week and when ever we go out of town. When we arrive in the parking lot Smokey gets very happy. I am sure his life is greatly enhanced by the love and attention he gets from Murray. It gives my wife and I a feeling of serenity to be able to trust that Smokey is in good hands. If you are thinking about training or boarding Murray Kennels is the place to be! I find the prices reasonable especially for the extra care all the dogs get.

One star for polite staff, one star for good treat prices and nice training room, no stars for high prices and kennel service. When I picked up my dog I heard a handler shouting repeatedly at the dogs in the kennel to stop barking, this went on the whole time I checked out and got my dog, so several minutes. I bought a peanut butter filled bone when I dropped my dog off and asked they give it to her, it was still in the wrapper in her travel bag when I picked her up, for a $190 boarding bill for 5 days, at the very least I expect my dog to get her bone. They also have German Shepherds unleashed laying around which is irresponsible, Ive never been to another kennel or training facility that allowed that kind of liability. Definitely not the kennel for us.

Nice people but rented a UHAUL and they had no idea how to work the tow dolly which was frustrating because neither did I. I give them 4 stars because they did attempt to read the directions and eventually we figured it out. I just feel like if you offer the equipment you should be trained on how to use it.

Read the fine print. I can't complain about the staff here. They are good and felt welcoming however I was confused when I picked my dog up since they apparently charge for three days instead of the less than two he was there. Sure enough they have it wrote right in the contract......I'll go back to my old kennel which has acreage for my dogs to run and cheaper NIGHTLY rate. I mean 96.00 for dropping him off on a Friday at 5:00 and picking up Sunday at 4:00 is through the roof. My other kennels rate for that is 54.00. Maybe that's why I couldn't find any other kennel other than this one to watch my dog on a 24hour notice??

Incredible experience here! I have a 4-year-old heeler/australian shepherd mix who was a stray for part of his life. He has shown aggression issues to some dogs and some males, but has a particularly violent reaction toward German shepherds. By the end of the training session, the trainer (who's name I forgot! Sorry!) and I were able to stand next to each other with both of our dogs (hers being a big German shepherd!) lying on the floor at our sides. There was a lot of focus on positive reinforcement training as well as focusing on putting the confidence and leadership skills into MY hands- thus invalidating any fear/aggression based reaction from my dog. Thank you so much! I will be back for to try out the group pack walks in the very near future!
