Morganton Point Recreation Area

I have been here a couple times. It is absolutely beautiful. We drove up this weekend not knowing if they had a camp site available but hoped they did. They did and we were right on the water and were able to put our kayaks in right from our campsite. The campground is the cleanest I've seen. The couple are sweet people too. We paid for firewood and ice and they brought it to our campsite which was very appreciated. We definitely will be back again.

My boyfriend and I came here for my 21st birthday. We stayed at site 14. Check in was no hassle and the staff was friendly. Our site was a stone's throw away from the lake with an amazing view. They also have a day use area with a beach on the lake if your interested in swimming and relaxing in the sand. They have paddleboards and kayaks for rent, although I'm not sure how much they charge. There are on site bathrooms, which are the cleanest bathrooms and shower I have ever seen a campsite have. As mentioned in previous posts, no alcohol is allowed on the property. You can always go to Blue Ridge (about 20 minutes away) and enjoy some of the bar life if you really insist on drinking (just don't drink and drive of course). It was a really nice and peaceful stay, and I will definitely make my way back there again.

Phenomenal place. We have been camping there twice now and will continue to visit. RD, one of the gentlemen at the campgrounds was a tremendous host. Extremely friendly and attentive. The facility is very well maintained with clean bathrooms and camping areas. Several of the sites have lake access.

Amazing management and staff! Stayed in 14 no one near us and right on the lake. They management is so caring the gave use heaters and wood and always checked in on us since we were a group of 19-21yr olds. Don't listen to the bad reviews they will take care of all your needs with a smile in there face (even helped me get my keys out of my locked car 2x) the water was beautiful and a great view of the mountains. Will always come back and stay here. Thank you both very much K & R.

Beautiful spot! Jennifer was so friendly and helpful over the phone and incredibly accommodating once I arrived. Plenty of conversation if I sought it, a peaceful and perfect trip all the way around. Great spot for Kayaking.
