Firstly, the staff was nowhere to be found when we walked in — finally a woman came to help who had to go out to a van in the parking lot to ask someone about how to proceed with my registration. I had made the reservation over the phone and have a Motel 6 profile, so no need to handle my credit card, yet she continued to act baffled and wanted me to present my card to her. When I explained that it should not be necessary, she excused herself to consult with someone i the van. There was never anyone staffing the front desk. No indication of who works there, since they don't wear hotel 6 uniform clothes or name tags. Very unprofessional staff, however the manager Michael saw me at the vending machine and referred to me by name. It felt odd, but I could see he was being friendly. The woman who checked us in said to just leave the keys on desk instead of checking out with a person. When we left there was a man in lobby, not behind desk but in chair near window, just sitting listening to music or something with earbuds in, pulled one out to ask me how was everything. I left keys on the desk and walked out saying the place wasn't clean. The room smelled as if someone had just been in the there smoking a cigarette, and it had definitely not been cleaned: floor was absolutely filthy, counter surfaces filthy, one of the beds was broken, and there was a pervading, foul odor like rotting foot cheese. I stayed at other Motel 6 locations that were far superior to this one, and would never recommend this location ever. In fact, it makes me feel less likely to trust the brand altogether. The management ought to be ashamed. For some reason, they seemed to have a few people working in tandem to manage the place, only from an open van in the parking lot rather than the actual motel office. Very weird. Also, truck stop right next door with super-seedy people roaming around….did not feel very safe. Lastly, the price at this location was the highest of the three nights I spent with Motel 6 this week, and that just is wrong.

Very comfy hotel with a small town feel in a big city. I'm back for a second night and will be back in the future if I'm passing this way again. I highly recommend you do the same!

The person at the desk was very rude. Yelled at me over the phone. He needs to learn Customer service.
And rethink the way your payment is on line. I should not have to use a 3rd party to pay. And I was double charged. I will never rent from you again. (The room rate was taken when I booked the room . Then charges again at check in. )

So. Bed sheets and towels still seem to be a problem. READ ON
I checked in, and was treated by a friendly gentleman. Spoke good English, and was very well mannered. Showed me where the laundry and vending was as well as told me a good place to park to be closer to my room.
I get to my room. First impression: it’s cute. Everything you would expect in terms of size for a budget motel. I turn on the heater because it was a little chilly in the room, and am greeted with a terrible sound coming from the unit. Ok. I can eventually ignore that.
I go into the shower “closet” and short of it being stainless steel, the toilet resembles that of a prison toilet. I guess the seat cover is extra? 🤷🏻♂️
I reached to unfold a towel, and see a large black smudge on it. Ok. I pick up the second towel, which initially was ok, but unfolding revealed another black smudge. Ok. Cool. I guess I’m using a dirty towel, because I just spent 17.5 hours driving and don’t really feel like waiting on housekeeping.
I go to sit on my bed, which is nice and firm (if you’re into that kinda thing) and see a little black spot on the “baseboard” of the wall. I look down further, and notice a semi-regular pattern of little black dots. Well. I guess they ran out of liquid nails, cause they used the solid ones. And you can see them. All around the room.
I pulled back the sheets, and lo and behold. Black smudges.
The hinge to the door for the “shower closet” are rusted. The shower drain cover is just haphazardly placed over the drain hole.
The soap. Oh, the soap....
Well. For starters, all I got was two bars of soap. No shampoo. No conditioner. No lotion. I was stuck with washing my hair with a bar of body soap. On top of that. The soap makes you feel a certain way. I can only liken it to pouring AstroGlide onto your body (or some other “personal lubricant”). And it worked just like it, too. You get it wet on your skin (trying to rinse it off), and it gets more slippery. You towel dry, and it’s fine. Just don’t get wet again. (That’s what he said?) 🤦🏼♂️
Oh yea. Because of the lube-like body soap, the shower pan had this turtle wax appearance. It also comes with the slip. Just don’t fall when you step in. Best to use the handles on the shower wall.
In conclusion (TLDR):
Bring your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, towels, bed sheets. Otherwise, a good stay. Nice and quite given there is a truck stop just next door.
