Mr. Broadway

They have recently changed their menu to make it more upscale (and expensive), however the acoustics in the dining room are still quite loud and it is a large room so it is difficult to hear your partner while you are eating. Still the food is better than average and it is an extensive menu. One of the longest lasting kosher spots in Midtown Manhattan, which shows they are doing something right.

Food and portion size excellent. Flavors have good complexity and freshness. Thoughtful preparation. We could taste the high quality of the meat.

Sometimes, it's not the restaurant itself that ruins an experience--though Mr. Broadway will never be anything better than mediocre. Sometimes, it's the management. I spoke to the manager today--a fellow named Moshe--after my order got messed up. Barely letting me speak, he explained at great length how he had managed to figure out why he shouldn't be liable for the order. He was more interested in the genius of his argument than what the customer wanted. This is a manager that cares about your wallet. Not your satisfaction, not what you think at all. Just how he can be clever and save himself some money. He lost a customer today.

The menu is inventive and fun. I never order the same thing twice. It never gets boring, and I've never been disappointed.

Food was delicious. Everyone was super friendly and the orders were ready relatively quickly. It was quiet and we had a nice cozy corner all for ourselves. If you're at a show and want to catch a bite to eat right nearby it's an excellent choice! Highly recommended
