Rarely I give 5 stars for the restaurant, but the visit to Mucca Osteria was a spotless experience. Every item on the menu was light. With natural flavor of the ingredients showing through. Scallops, shrimp and halibut was just an opera of flavors. The restaurants provided extra desert drink because some of the food was little delayed. Fantastic experience. Highly recommended!
Best place I have ever been!!! I did the four course meal, and each meal was splendid. The service was incredible. The attention to each request and detail was phenomenal. Monica in particular took time to accommodate each one of our requests. Would definitely come back!Food: 5/5
I absolutely love this restaurant. It's location is so conveniently near the MAX downtown. They take such care with the food and the waitstaff is phenomenal. The food is really delicious. The last time I went the scallops were fantastic as always. The shrimp pasta was stellar. I highly recommend trying their pasta. Treat yourself!Food: 5/5
I looked at every article and review I could find in a search for the best Italian restaurant in Portland. We had an exceptional meal at Mucca Osteria that my wife and I agree is the best Italian we have had in the USA. We have eaten a lot of Italian in many restaurants across the US. Food 5 out of 5: we started with Prosciutto e Burrata and the Carpaccio di Bresaolan, which were both exceptionally delicious. As fresh and authentic as we have ever had in the US. We then overdosed as we love to on pasta and had the Tortelli ai Funghi, Agnolotti del Plin, and the Tagliatelle alAnatra. They were all delicious but the Tortelli ai Funghi was a standout favorite. Service 5: I wish I would have made note of names, so I could thank the wonderful server and other people involved that provided such outstanding recommendations and service. There was someone that was perhaps filling in for the sommelier that was so kind and helpful with wine paring recommendations. For each of our courses, she brought up a couple of samples for us to taste. We ended up with such wonderful parings for all the courses. Ambience 5: the overall restaurant ambience is picturesque and lovely. We were fortunate with our reservation to have been given a beautiful table upstairs with an interesting view of the restaurant below and out the frond window of the restaurant. We highly recommend Mucca Osteria. We will now be back every time we are passing through Portland. Thank you to the Mucca Osteria team for such a lovely meal and overall experience!
Loved their service and food! Perfect for date nights for those who like Italian food. The stake had interesting taste! The gravy is like southasian achaar, which I really love. We got mocktails on the house. I loved the mocktails, especially the fiora elderberry one. scalliops and fungi pasta were also tasty.Food: 5/5
Our language doesn't have the words to express how delightful this restaurant is. We had the prix fixed menu, which is how I would suggest anyone going to experience it. Obviously the food is amazing, I could go on and on, but honestly you need to just go there. The staff is what makes it. Everyone is kind and professional. They paid attention to our every need and took the time to get to know us. Thank you for an amazing anniversary.
We went here for Valentines Day. They had a special prepaid course menu. It’s a small restaurant with a nice layout. We ate upstairs and had a nice view. The food was all super great and service was on point. I especially like the slow cooked beef. The lobster tortellini was a tad fishy to me, but my wife loved the flavor.Food: 5/5
I don’t usually leave negative reviews but our experience was unfortunately bad enough to warrant one. We had the prix fixe menu here on Saturday May 4th 2024. They were very busy and we totally understood that and didn’t mind being patient. We arrived 5 min before our reservation and waited in line. It took us about 20 min to get seated. They did offer us a glass of Prosecco which was nice. We got sat near the kitchen after asking if that was ok as our reserved table was still occupied and we were happy to accommodate. Because of this we saw everyone’s food go out and could see the difference in ours. We were one of the last tables if not the last to be served in our prix fixe seating group which makes sense as we were the last to be seated but our food looked much sloppier than others. The first course was fine I had the scallops and my partner had the burrata as they were out of the carpaccio. The second course which was the pasta was ok. Mine was incredibly salty but tasty so I ate it. My partner had the truffle pasta and that was the sloppiest dish we saw leave the kitchen. It was also not emulsified properly so was very watery and flavorless. It was like they threw wet pasta in the bowl with sauce and brought it out. My partner had the steak as his entree and it was fine. Nothing special but the cut itself was nice and it was cooked nicely. The steak was the best thing we had there. I had the polenta and it was basically inedible. I had two bites. I love radicchio so much and that was the main thing besides the polenta and it just wasn’t good. The sauce was sweet and weird. My partner tried one bite and agreed that it wasn’t good and then I stopped eating. Through none of these courses did anyone come and ask how everything was. The service was the worst part of our experience as we didn’t see our server after the greeting and delivery of drinks at all and it was about 20-25 min wait time between each course without even a friendly check in. A different server than ours picked up our entree plates and walked off so fast I couldn’t say anything. When they brought the dessert which was again only fine. They brought us some port and dessert wine with it. It was very basic but appreciated. The wine in general by the glass at least is not very exciting and mid range. We didn’t really understand why they brought us the dessert drinks and no one explained it. When someone who I think was the manager came with our bill she apologized that we were served slow and took care of our first round of drinks. That was nice and we were appreciative. My partner did at that point say something about the food and specifically that his pasta was pretty bad and I didn’t eat basically any of my entree. There were very apologetic and said “ I’ll put it a note for next time”. We won’t be going another time so that didn’t really help. Our $40 drink bill I think should have been taken care of as it really just wasn’t a great experience and we already paid the $200 for the set menu. That would be the standard response in even a mid range establishment. It’s not about the money to us at all but it would’ve been nice to be acknowledged before they brought us the bill. Again, I feel bad about submitting this but I think that future diners should know that the online rating doesn’t really match our experience or the quality of the offerings here.
Had the best time for our date night. The food was impeccable and our waiter Lachen sp? was also SO lovely. Can’t wait to try their pizza spot next door. Ps- highly recommend getting dishes to share as we were suggested
Unique restaurant. If you’re trying to find this place, note that their sign outside says, “Mucco Osteria Pizzeria.” We didn’t get it why that was but we figured it out. The seating is downstairs and upstairs. There is a 4 course and a 6 course meal option. The 4 course was $95 a person where the 6 course was higher but not known. It couldn’t be more than $45. The food was great! The only problem we had was with the scallops. They were undercooked and cold. The beef tartar was excellent. Other noteworthy meal item was the steak. Great! Check out the photos of the food we had. I don’t have the menu with me so I don’t know the menu item names but I do know the food was amazing. You won’t go wrong on any of your choices. Do try this place! It worth the price and it’s rated the #1 fine dining restaurant for a good reason!
