Nico, by his character alone made this review possible. As I've been protesting, I didn't want to 'work' much while on 'vacation' picking up the Tesla. I'm almost home... stopped off downtown Portland to celebrate. By chance, Gilda's Lounge 1601 SW Morrison St, 97205 is where I landed. Nico asked that I not take his picture so my very 'simple' garlic bread, marinara sauce and Zolglhaus will have to do. He suggested that I return for a special salmon meal... never meeting a salmon I didn't like, the odds are high that I'll be back. Great in all ways.
The lounge was awesome. Fried Ravioli, excellent! Pizza a winner. All the good stuff. Music mix - great. Barkeep Romynsp? The best.
A cute gem! I cant believe it has taken me this long to find this place. The food is amazing! We had the beet salad, meatballs and the Halibut! Yum!!
Ronan is very prompt and friendly. Perphap the best calamari I have ever had too!
My absolute favourite, authentic and delicious Italian, assembled expertly with fresh, local, highest quality ingredients + great and creative bar with friendly and superb service. Simply some of the BEST food in town. Highly recommended.
Definitely a great little neighborhood spot. There's a small bar rail with a couple shelves of medium to higher end liquors as well as several beers on top. The menu was pretty limited despite being attached to a proper restaurant but the food options were much better than standard bar fare. Lots of pasta, lots of wine options. I ordered the tortellini and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and had an obvious rapport with some of the customers who were very plainly regulars and very quickly built a rapport with me as well. I would define the lounge as a bar, but I didn't feel like I was sitting in a "typical" bar. There was music playing but it wasn't overly loud and there were also 2 television sets tuned to the NFL playoffs game that was on. As it's only a couple blocks from my home I'm sad it took me so long to discover this gem tucked away so close. I'll definitely be returning
Wow, it seems insane that this place has such high reviews, I live near by and have only tried it a few times. The drinks are way over priced, and the food. For my money there are much better places in the neighborhood, if you like to drink go a couple of blocks away to Commodore lounge, or the Kingston, the marathon, there are others that charge less than half of what this place charges... Food wise as well you're better off skipping Gildas, you can find better fare for less $$
Delicious food. Generous portions. Great Italian vibe. I've never had a bad meal or a bad experience at Gildas.
The lounge at Gilda's is a great place to drop in for a beer and the environment is very comfortable. The service has always been friendly and I'm always glad to have stopped by.
Really good food for before and after a Timbers game. Fried ravioli, meatballs, and pizza are the best. Good beer selection.
