Moved in in May. Management had changed multiple times. A lot of the language and availability of leasing staff is inconsistent & vague. Terrible experience when I first moved in, staff being rude, not personable. Signed lease to move in in May the day before I was supposed to move in, told me I wasn’t able to move in until August, this was AFTER I had already paid deposit and first-months rent. Will say it has got a tad bit better, but overall just not a good experience. And in event you may be a couple days late literally a couple days, late fees are ridiculously high and too frequent. Amount you pay for rent and amenities may not be worth it given there’s not a lot of upkeep, grounds aren’t “immaculate” as one may think given the rent amount. And amenities that you pay are vague too, they’re just random charges that just pop up sometimes. Things need to be more uniform, have some staff that are a little bit more personable and relatable, more clear and consistent language across the board.
I would highly recommend not to live here. They don’t care about their residents. They are greedy. It’s not safe in or outside the complex. I wish someone would told me not to live at this place. There’s no communication between anyone. They have gone through 3+ property managers in the past year. Just save yourself the time and don’t bother looking here. You can’t get out of your lease, and you have to have a co-signer most of the time. They apartments are small and products are cheap. Not worth it.
Lived here for a year and a half. My bedroom window cracked about a week into my lease due to the building's poor foundations. If you look at the building you can see that it's curved towards the top. The window was never fixed while I lived there and was only fixed after I moved out. This is a great example of how little the tenants mean to the owners of this property. I can only hope yet another management change has occurred since I left there were at least 4 changes in management during my lease. Beyond this, poor security, laughable amenities, and lackluster construction and maintenance lead me to advise any reader to choose anywhere else to live. The walking distance to campus is not worth it.
I moved into number 111 thinking that this apartment was going to be my dream. Less than a month after living here, my neighbors upstairs began making unnecessary noise complaints against my emotional support animal. The management did prevent this from reoccurring. However, I came home on Christmas evening to a flooded apartment from two pipes bursting. No assistance was provided to move me out on Christmas evening. They offered for me to stay in a hotel for a night after I had already moved all of my stuff to my parents in Iowa because no one was helping. After moving to Iowa, they then offered for me to move myself back into an Airbnb on site I came down with a sinus infection, and my father hurt his back slipping on the unsalted ice covering the apartment’s. It’s now 12/30/22, 5 days later and they have not done anything to fix the water damage to my unit. I was told that I was going to have my stuff moved from the damaged unit into another unit until they can fix this problem. I was also told that it was going to be worked on over three days ago and from viewing my camera, they have done nothing to fix the problem yet. Other than mopping once on December 26th. Oh, I initially plan to do a two-year lease but if this issue is not resolved, I will have to change that plan. I feel as though there should be prorated rent since we weren’t allowed to stay in our units for an extended amount of time with no fixed end date as well as paying for the gas from me having to move myself out with no help from the company.
Please deduct the monthly utility bill automatically- and let me know how much you’re going to deduct. As it is, I have to go in and do it myself. You already have my billing info - just do it!!!
When you read these reviews Trust and Believe they are not lying. I'm stuck here for a year. Every bad review that you've read they are true statements. The best thing about this apartment for me is that it's close to my job
SCAM!! Don’t do it. They are not student friendly, very disorganized and they don’t communicate very well especially after they get you TRAPPED! in a contract. They have you sign a contract before your application is processed so they can trap you. If anything changes as your application is being processed you are still responsible and Stuck. Do not expect them to help you. The only thing they will do ,is take your money and SCAM the next vulnerable person. They will also give you the run around about the manager never being available.
My sincere advice: Do not live there! - The management of the apartment is very unorganized and makes tons of mistakes. Checking in takes forever, even though you already told them the exact date you will be moving in. They don't start cleaning your room until you arrive, and let you wait for hours. - The keys and doors keeps malfunctioning and the management team is not helpful at all. - The apartment gets very noisy at night in the lobby and you could hear the noise in your room. It will keep you up. - There are many homeless people walking around the apartment. With the gates being broken all the time, it definitely doesn't feel safe living there. There are a lot of nicer apartments near the university. You deserve a better choice! Don't believe the 5-star reviews that they bribe some of the residents to write!
So, to start off I would like to say I have been here since Muse first opened. I have gone through the ups and downs with Muse Omaha and have been here since it was a construction lot masquerading as an apartment complex to what it is today. Some positives about Muse are that it has a large spacious courtyard with hammocks and other amenities. The fireplace is nice, but it can be hit or miss if it will turn on our not. The clubhouse is nice and a good place to study and hang out with friends. I enjoyed that the apartments come fully furnished and have an in unit washer and dryer. The actual apartment rooms are well designed. Now for the negatives and there are a lot. Management has changed at least three times over the past two years and my Muse experience has been overwhelmingly negative. All of the reviews regarding safety and the malfunctioning gates are true. Homeless people frequently walk throughout the courtyards as the gates are often propped open. The gates and fob keys malfunction and rarely work. On one occasion a homeless individual was sleeping on my patio furniture on my ground floor balcony, knocking on our window, and moaning at 3 AM. I had to call Signal 88 to have them removed. In addition, there are no exterior cameras on the property. One upside is that each hallway/breezeway has a lock that only allows only residents in. However, this is an issue when the lock brakes and your key will no longer open the door. The breezeway door nearest my room was broken and could not be opened, the only way to access my room was to walk to the other side of the apartment complex. Despite multiple maintenance requests and emails, it took over 4 months for this lock to be fixed. Management and maintenance are incompetent and not attentive. Most emails go unanswered and maintenance requests take way too long. Maintenance work is not good craftmanship. My sink has leaked on 5 separate occasions despite maintenance insisting that they fixed it on each occasion., the sink would continue to leak. Management does not know how to operate the building and cannot do simple commodities such as trash removal. The trash room frequently overflows as management will not amend the trash pickup schedule. Finally, there is a major pest problem at Muse. Every summer there is a major fruit fly infestation within the building. Management has sprayed once but it does nothing to fix the issue. Do not be fooled by the advertising and deals. This place is not a good apartment complex. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone and would advise college students to avoid the enticing deals and look elsewhere.
The worst place I’ve had the unpleasant experience of living at. 1- Hot water is only enough to do dishes or run your dishwasher, if you do both you’ll be taking a cold shower. 2- A/C doesn’t work from time to time. My apartment is 92 degrees right now. I wonder if they turn it off to save energy tbh. 3- They also have a super disrespectful employee that I do not recall her name. She was not trying to do her job and actually said “thank God they are leaving, now I can have lunch” and it was like 10 am. they had just opened the office. 4- Homeless people in the trash chute. 5- Needles and caterers are find on the premises. 6- Maintenance requests takes days to be fixed. If they do. I just hope I can help you guys understand that this is not the place to live at. Every single day I regret moving in here and I wish I could leave. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
