Story

The US Navy Memorial is dedicated to educating the public about the maritime heritage of the United States and honoring the contribution of the members of the Sea Services --- Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine to that heritage.

Our mission is to Honor, Recognize, and Celebrate the men and women of the Sea Services, past, present, and future; and to Inform the public about their service.

I was impressed with everything except there was no information that I could find about Chief Warrant Officer history, specialties and duties. I was looking for it and I am a retired CWO4.
My great Uncle was in the Navy during WWII and the museum and water fountain is a beautiful tribute to all who served off our shores. There are many places around the fountain to relax, read, have a snack, or people watch.
Great place to visit. I particularly liked the library. Great historical books in there.

Amazing walk thru US Navy & USMC history. Nice gift shop as well. Worth walking in!
A wonderful national resource. Learn about and input your own family's contributions to our nation's Navy.
A neat building, several exhibits were closed for remodel. I imagine someone with naval background would really enjoy it, for the lay person it's less intriguing but I was still able to learn something. Not very interative, wouldn't recommend for small kids.
I am a Marine that enjoyed the good displays. A little bit of a challenge for wheelchair but worth it
