NAMA is a fabulous community space and no matter if you are, a regular, or your visiting once will find that the music is always high-quality, and the audience super engaged. This is the real deal.
What a wonderful place to hear new and old musical talent. Sometimes jazz, other times a variety of talented performers. There is a $5 donation on Monday nights. We'll worth it.
A must! Friendly local place. We've spent great 4 hours there on Wedensday session You see people who enjoy playing music together, folks may get from the audience to sing or play And we heard grand music played with flair, energy and passion Place has reach history, entry is $10 only Safe to reach, no problem to return after midnight by metro Pity so few people come there...
We were looking for an authentic jazz experience all week - and finally found it here, this is the real deal. An amazing place full of good people and a beautiful community with a real passion for music and jazz..
Great Show ! I've known Keith "The Captain" Gamble for nearly 25 yrs. He's a trailblazer. Lately, The Captain and the Nu Gypsies are gaining momentum with this Jazz/Rock/R+B/Latin infusion music. I Love it I find the members of his band warm and inviting. This comradeship of extremely talented musicians is something to admire. NAMA, was incorporated in 1902 and it has a long rich history in HARLEM. Actually it's a historical site and we should all lend a helping hand to assure its continuance. I know that I'm in for ALL of this and I'm hoping you will join us. 1LuV
The New Amsterdam Musical Association has been a great resource for me as a place for social gathering, jazz and R & B experience and historical relevance!
Small donations are expected, but the music is really great and we'll worth it!! It will either have you tapping your feet or clapping your hands. Snacks are available and you can bring your own liquor or wine. Come, enjoy, you won't regret it.
A century-old organisation within a location that is also about a century old. This place has lots of history and it’s got soul. If you want to experience some authentic cultural life in Harlem, this is one you shouldn’t be missing. Jam sessions on every Wednesday!
This tiny members club is a gem; friendly people and fabulous jazz players. Had a really memorable night here as part of a Big Apple Jazz tour.
Everyone should know about NAMA! Please go and enjoy yourselves. This place is a true historic landmark. Not to be missed!
