Loved the historic feel of this 1840’s guest house. The antique furniture was gorgeous. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We loved the courtyard. Staff was super friendly. It really felt like staying in someone’s house instead of a hotel, it was great. On-site parking was secure and really cheap for New Orleans. I loved the cats on the property. We would definitely stay here again.
I’ve been to New Orleans many times and this was the most authentic hotel I’ve stayed at. I really felt like I was family bc the staff made us feel so comfortable. 1. Helen at the front desk was amazing. 2. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. 3. The courtyard was gorgeous. 4. Loved the gated parking lot. 5. Loved the historic decor. 6. Great location with only 4 blocks to bourbon st.
The Staff was excellent, The room was nice. However the bed had bed bugs. Due to the fact that it is a small hotel there is not a desk worker at all times. If it were not for the bed bugs this would be five star. I understand that running a hotel is difficult and bed bugs are a hard thing to deal with so I won’t be overly critical but with other reviews saying there were bed bugs Four months ago it’s not encouraging. The hotel was in a great place. With a little bit of love it could be great. Edit:There was more than one bed bug and the response this review got was very rude so attached is photos of the bed bug and a smaller bed bug in the bed. I suggest you check the room more thoroughly. Also I am the son and if you used common sense you’d see there is no point in leaving a review if I was “just looking for a discount” plus you admitted there were bed bugs in that room in the past so what would be the odds that it was the room that received complaints. I understand it’s extremely difficult to get rid of bed bugs BUT it’s not extremely difficult to show respect.
So far, so good. Our plane was delayed by almost 3 hours, but we were emailed a code to get in and a way to get into our room even though staff leaves earlier in the evening. Room is clean and well turned. Beautiful antique pieces. Great start to our New Orleans weekend!Rooms: 5/5
The desk clerk was awesome friendly, very cool. Watch out for the cleaning staff. Mean nasty presumptuous. Actually threw my wife's service animals dish at us as we left the hotel. Threw it. Literally. It changed in the road. Nice place aside from that.Rooms: 3/5
The staff at this hotel are wonderful! The building is a lovely historic building and they keep it clean. There are some repairs that need to be done but nothing too serious. I enjoyed my time here and plan to come back.Rooms: 4/5
We love the beauty of both inside and outside this place! Great job keeping its original features intact! Definitely returning next time we're around. Love the patios, and relaxed courtyard settings!Rooms: 5/5
Cute quaint and very charming. Shonaa P you were a gem to meet. The location is Fantastic, in walking distance to EVERYTHING. So worth the $25 parking spot. We made a new reservation at check-outRooms: 4/5
If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, keep looking but if you want a unique experience staying in a room that looks like a typical NOLA bedroom, this is your place. Extremely affordable, and an amazing location just blocks from the Quarter, this place feels like you're in New Orleans, not a cookie cutter hotel room youd see in any city. The service staff were terrific and offered the typical southern class and hospitality that you'll love.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Don the manager is RUDE! My husband and I stayed the night on Oct 7th, and it was a terrible experience. We arrived close to when the front deskDon-manager left for the day, so when we got into our room, and saw the condition of it, there was nothing to be done. The bed and desk were broken, the floor was cracked and sagging, the walls were coming apart at the seams, and the mold was horrible. The first thing I smelled walking in was Mold, Mildew, and Cigarettes. I have a brain tumor, and mold really effects my health. I had the WORST migraine, my throat hurt, and sinuses were acting up. As soon as I went outside, my symptoms cleared up immediately. The place is falling apart, and when we went to check out this morning at 8:30Sat Oct 8th, there wasn't anyone at the desk. I was hoping to resolve this issue, and get a refund. The gate code did NOT work to get out. It took us 10min to unlock it, and the help of another guest. No one answered when we called. Parking was so tight, you couldn't pull in and out, and they charged almost $30 for it. I've been trying to get ahold of Donwho commented on my review here, but wouldn't call me back for over 5 days. He ignored my calls, email, and when I called on 10/13, he was RUDE. Would not refund for anything but the parking fee. Insisted that we should have just left upon arrival. Where would we have gone? Our $ isn't disposable. We couldn't afford to pay for ANOTHER hotel that night, on top of the $134 we were charged for the New Orleans Guest house. We have called code enforcement, as this establishment needs shut down. It is unsafe to anyone staying there. Head my warning, and don't make the mistake we did. ZERO STARS. DON'T RECCOMEND. SHAME ON YOU DON AND OWNERS.
