Poor quality sushi-the fish did not smell or taste fresh. While we were there the kitchen was burning food and the dining room was filled with smoke. Slow and unorganized service. The menu is too large, which likely diverts from the quality. Many better options available in St. Louis. I do not recommend.

Nobu's is probably one of the best kept secrets in the St. Louis area. They offer traditional Japanese sushi, sashimi, and other menu items. The owner, who is the chef, is from Japan. Fish is flown in fresh from Japan several times a week to prepare some of the best sushi and sashimi available. The food is made fresh to order so there is a little bit of a wait as expected, but it is not excessive. The quality of the food is worth waiting for! The service and customer care are excellent and very clean. Restaurant seating includes both tables and sushi bar. The restaurant is decorated in a casual sushi restaurant fashion and is very welcoming for a date or a family dinner. Prices are commensurate for the area and are very reasonable for the high quality of the food, attention to detail and preparation, and attention to diners needs received. I personally live about 250 miles from St. Louis and try to eat at Nobu's every time I visit the city either for a sit down dinner or placing an order for take out.

I would rate it 1 star, but as we only have the singular experience, I feel it wouldn't be completely fair. That said, the food was not good. We got 3 sushi rolls; all three were BAD. The fish tasted bad/old. The rolls were constructed poorly. The service was "adequate," and the same could be said of the facilities.

If you are looking for a real Japanese Chef to make your sushi this is definitely the place to be at. The food is great here, I love the bento box options too. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and welcoming. Food is served fairly fast. I always recommend this to my friends and co-workers
