One of the worst experiences I've ever had was the fault of counselor Ron. He caused an anxiety attack trying to accuse me of faking PTSD and a blood test. He has no experience with OCD and does not appear to have any experience with PTSD, which is why I was seeing him in the first place. He wouldn't listen and wouldn't stop after multiple pleas with him. Then he ghosted me for a month canceling appointments the morning of because he was to much of a coward to face the consequences of attacking a patient. RN Beauty is another problem they have. Multiple calls about my disability and she would repeatedly lie about whether PTSD is a disability. I had to go over her head after so many lies to get a real doctor. Things have been going great sense, just be aware who they assign to you, they may not be qualified for your case like my first two weren't.
My doctor clearly took my mental health concerns as a huge joke. At one point she “forgot” to send my medication into the the pharmacy, 2 months in a row actually. When I questioned the medication not being there the first time, she chuckled and said “well they didn’t have it, because I never sent it in”..I called to request it be sent and was never even given a call back! anytime i expressed concerns, she would simply say “okay, I’m going to leave everything the same, let’s make the appointment for next month”. I am with a new doctor who has taken me off of 2 medications that were so low dose there’s no way they could be helpful with my diagnosis. One of the medications could have potentially made things a whole lot worse for my mental health. Please consider other places, and only use this place as a last resort or an in between to give yourself time to find a compassionate establishment. I mean, people who deal with mental health issues, already have a tough enough time honestly.
Why is no one answering the phone anymore??? I’ve been with them since 2014 and NEVER seen it like this. It goes straight to a voicemail and sometimes the voicemail is FULL and you cannot even leave a message. I’ve tried multiple lines that they’ve called from. And now that the best psyche is gone, they hired more. All the new ones seem to just call you whenever they want now, either 40 minutes before your scheduled appointment or they are super late, anywhere from 15 minutes 2 hours late!! A lot of us need stability and consistency when it comes to mental health! I like the providers that are willing to take time to schedule your next appointment rather than dump you back into the phone line of the scheduling office who never answers. Not everyone is willing to do that though, mainly the psyches. Hopefully something changes…. I think having the phones answered in a place crucial to helping in the mental health needs of others is important. Or at least clear the voicemails and call back!!!
I was a patient of Joe Rogers for 9 years and he helped a lot. When my life changed, all I did was call and ask to be his patient and he returned my call promptly and I started therapy the next week. He remembered my story, so we didn't have to waste any time on the past but could directly deal with my situation. Excellent service
I would avoid this place at all cost and if you go there now let this be the sign to leave. I regret not leaving sooner when I saw the signs that the organization is completely nonfunctional. The biggest issue is that no one answers the phone. Many of the phone lines hang up after no one answers because their voicemail box is full. It's nearly impossible to schedule an appointment and if you do your doctor will likely call you at a random time. If you miss their call you will not be able to get ahold of them. The second biggest issue is when you tell them about the phones they'll gaslight you about it. They'll tell you it's strange their front desk person isn't answering the phones because they're so great. Or worse ignore you and blame you for being non-compliant with appointments making it harder for anyone else to take you seriously in the future. Considering how many people on Google maps alone have reported that no one answers their phones someone there has to know, but weare, after all, there for psychiatric care, so we are easy to toss aside like garbage. This issue culminates when you're unable to get your medication. As everyone knows, it is incredibly dangerous to go cold turkey off of psychiatric medication. I don't know whether to insult their intelegence by believing people who work here don't know this or to assume the people who work here are cruel and heartless. It is likely a third option. They're removed from the situation and therefor able to avoid feeling any sort of responsibility for the suffering they cause their patients, and likely can't do anything about it anyway. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk "Power Imbalance in Mental Healthcare: for the love of God answer your phones" if you'd like to stick around for the second session my next talk is called "Wait Times in Dermatology: Whew buddy I hope this mole isn't melanoma because I'm going to be dead before my appointment".
I've been trying to get connected to somebody to talk to over a year now. My case manager never answers the phone and never reaches out to me it's been over 2 months since I've heard from her. Beauty my nurse practioner is not caring or attentive to my needs and should not be working at prescribing meds when she can barely understand the information being told to her. Sad excuse for a mental health facility find somewhere else
A rating of 1 is too high. This place is the worst ever for providing resources for those in need. Funding should be cut completely and this organization demolished. If this is state funded there must be some form of oversight to see that this is a complete and total waste of taxpayer money. My brother has been allegedly receiving services from here. But that is a joke. There's not enough time nor space to recount how bad they are.
I've been with North Central since 2017. I have had 5 Nurse Practitioners/Prescribers in that time high turnover but just one courselor/therapist all 6 years. Her name is Jenny Zuber and she's beyond good at her job. This woman is extremely compassionate, ALWAYS positive and encouraging and she is super smart as well as resourceful. She knows how the system works and she knows how to help people who are struggling with their mental health. Honestly, she's worth 10× whatever salary she's being paid because she goes beyond what any social worker I have ever encountered has ever done for me. Jenny's been with me through a suicide attempt, the shocking unexpected sudden death of my brother, problems with my Nurse Practitioners Danielle and Amanda Both are no longer at NC and she no joke literally remembers all 3 of my cats' names! She's so great to talk to. One time she called for our appt and I was in the middle of a total meltdown. A bad one. By the end of that call I was calmed down and ok. She deserved like 5× pay for that call, I told her. Lol. I mean, I was a MESSSSSSSS. I really needed super high caliber type / level of professional guidance that day, and Jenny was equipped with it and ready on a dime to jump right into my breakdown with me... and she had all the tools necessary to talk me out of the trenches. I am so grateful to Jenny. I have been in mental health care of one kind or another consistently since 2009. I have seen private psychiatrists, Ohio State psychiatrists, medicaid psychiatrists, inpatient psych, over a dozen social workers and around 9-10 psych nurse practitioners. I say that so you see I know what I'm talking about here: Jenny Zuber is the hands down best mental health professional I have ever worked with. No question. My current nurse practitioner, Qiana Webb with her 7 months and my first NP at NC 2017-19 Lacey Kolb, are in a tie for second place. Lacey's moved on to private practice but I had to mention her because she was so smart and so good at her job. Qiana has been WONDERFUL! There have been several instances where there's been a pharmacy / insurance issue where I've had to contact her about it between appointments ZERO of the problems were her fault, btw and she's always responded to me quickly and has never made me feel bad for bugging her between scheduled calls. I always apologize though! She went above and beyond just recently when there was a prior authorization issue with a new medication. Qiana took it upon herself to arrange for me to pick up samples of the medication while the paperwork went through, so I wouldn't have to go a even one day without my anti-depression meds. I couldn't believe it! She didn't have to go out of her way like that, as nothing that went down was her fault. But she did! Qiana Webb and Jenny Zuber are fabulous, smart, caring women and I am thankful to have them on my team helping me to manage my mental health treatment. The medical part AND the therapy part. Both are critical! *I can attest that it's hard gettting started here. Lots of voice-mail, no call backs, etc. But my experience has been mostly great. The problems I had with the medical director and 2 NPs were tough but all 3 are no longer at NC.
Would you eat at a restaurant that gets 2.2 stars? I know these folks wouldn’t. Yet they ignore their own reviews, and it’s because they think you’re all crazy. Isn’t that crazy? It’s time for change. You are not sick. You do not need their medicine. You need love and balance. You are simply out of alignment. Best of luck in your souls journey! One Love
The absolute worst experience in any sort of mental health facility I’ve ever had. Save yourself your time and sanity by never making an appointment here. My personal experience consisted of calling 15 times at a time just to get a hold of someone, doctors that don’t listen to anything you tell them and prescribe you a medication that they might as well of pulled out of a hat, and many days and nights of crying in frustration. You’re better off getting mental health advice from a worm. Hope this saves someone from ever coming here.
