I had an overall poor experience getting my bicycle repaired at North Rim. I don't typically write reviews, but the service here warranted an honest critique. They changed my quote for repairs three times, from $140 to $250 to $270. The final bill was over $300 for repairs for a 1980's era road bike that I had gotten for free. The work seems to have been done fine, but I felt taken advantage of, as they raised the repair cost only AFTER some work had already been completed, instead of being honest with me up front about the work needed. For the amount of money I ended up spending there I could have bought a new bike. They had my bicycle there for nearly a month repairing it and waiting on a rare part, and didn't even seem to clean it thoroughly. The customer service was also not very good, and it felt like the service manager kept avoiding me when I would go in to get an update. I understand that the parts and labor are expensive and can be hard to find, but I felt that they were dishonest in the way dealt with me, and that they exploited my lack of bicycle repair knowledge. Go somewhere else.

Kinda rude. And I've been in several times. Seems to be the same everytime. Maybe they shouldn't have employees that hate to work there and do their jobs.

By far the best shop shop in Chico, hands down. Always greeted by smiling friendly faces, good stock on hand and great brands too. The staff is also very knowledgeable and do not try to oversell you

I initially was upset by an experience I had in regards to a repair they did. The owner personally contacted me to resolve, at the time I decided to completely rebuild my 29er hard tail I originally bought from them. The frame was the only thing left original and they did the entire install. Great job and extremely satisfied! My recommendation, if you are not satisfied let them know and they are very willing to work with you. Highly recommend.
