Neighbors are the only plus. I suppose we are all suffering together. We took an apartment only to learn, later from the neighbors, that the previous occupant had been murdered; his body found in the apartment days or weeks later. Then we had to clear out his storage ourselves after being assured by management it would be handled. We found the basement/storage flawed due to flooding. The laundry, water heaters, and natural seepage produces an astonishing amount of leakage. Expect water damage! Most recently, a plumbing issue has arisen. Our upstairs neighbor's pipes have been leaking on our heads for a week and counting. A repair guy came by, once, torn a hole in the ceiling and declared it fixed. It wasn't. He promise the hole would be patched the next business day. We are still being showered when our neighbor showers and when we call we're told someone will come by "tomorrow" - next business day, meaning we endure another weekend - to fix it. This is just an example. The apathy of the staff is clear. Sign up if you need to, just be prepared to fend for yourself. Bring an umbrella.
I lived here for 3 years. First off, let me start with the pros of living here. You are very close to local food and shopping, which is very convenient. The units are also very spacious. You are allowed to paint the walls or mount televisions, as they want you to “feel at home”. Also, these places are very easy to get approved for, so they’re great if you just need SOMETHING. I also didn’t mind the management staff. They were always kind to me and pretty laid back. I absolutely loved maintenance when they DID stop by. Thomas, especially, is really fun to talk to. There are a lot more cons, however. These places are VERY old and falling apart. I’ve had my ceiling pour sewer water, multiple times. This also resulted in a sinking ceiling and mold spots. The basement also leaks, smells of mildew, and I’ve lost some sentimental items that I had in storage. My recommendation, if storing anything in the basement is to have your stuff in a water proof tote. Maintenance requests take FOREVER, and many times do not get fulfilled at all. Examples of things that were never taken care of are: when I reported my pipes leaking in the basement, my upstairs bathroom sink not working, and my upstairs shower door never being replaced. When I first moved in, the place was trashed. The backyard was overgrown with weeds and there was trash/beer cans every where. I had to clean this up myself. Also, the parking situation is TERRIBLE. You have assigned spots, and if someone else parks in your spot all you can do is call the office to complain. Nothing ever happens and you’re forced to find a visitor spot which are very few and often taken until the people in your spot move. The parking spots are also drawn very unevenly, leaving me hardly any room to park. My car has been dinged up and dented so many times because of this. The location is also not the best. It’s very noisy, as these townhomes border a very busy street. There’s also been gunshots heard in the middle of the night, on 3 occasions that I know of since living there. The area is going downhill fast. The cost of these townhomes also keeps going up. For a two bedroom, I was paying over $1100 a month. Each year, they increase rent by around $20-$25 a month. This is high, considering these places are decades old and not modernized at all. Also, after moving out, they want to charge me almost $1000.00 for new paint and carpet. This was after my deposit. So be prepared, if you choose to live here, for your rent to increase every year and a large final statement.
Literally probably the worst apartment i have ever lived in. Let me tell you about my personal experience. I first moved into a really nice and spacious basement apartment it was about 1000 or so square feet that was also recently redone. It was basically perfect except there were maintenance people in and out at all hours because it wasn't finished even though I was allowed to move in. When it was finally finished the apartment flooded not once but twice. The second and worse time I was forced to call maintenance because there was water coming out of the outlets. I called at approx 10pm they did not arrive until about 1 or 2am. They allowed me to move into a different apartment. Except the one that they allowed me to move into was a lot smaller like probably 3/4 the size of the old one. This one was probably the worst apartment that I have ever had. During our 2K16 heat wave the AC broke like 3 or 4 times I honestly lost count because it has been broken for so long. Every time I would call maintenance it would be fixed for a day and then the next it wouldn't work again. The most recent time that the AC broke it took 3+ hours and 2 phone calls to even get the maintenance guys to even look at the AC. I don't blame the maintenance guys because for the entire complex there are only 2 guys to do everything. It is really run like crap. It is really cheap but take your money elsewhere and find a more expensive place than this craphole.
I wish I can rate it 0. I should have read the reviews before we moved here. I think that this apartments need a good lawsuit, I had half of my stuff in a U haul truck when came to pick the keys to move that day and realized there was a crack on the basement, water was licking and a lot of humidity. I told "the manager" I was mislead because nobody mention that problem before I moved. Then they have a contractor came to fix the problem and now my stuff downstairs are full of dust and dirt. I regret moving here every day and we just singed a year lease ; 8/24/2018 I already start looking for another place to go as soon as my lease ends. If you're looking for a place I would recommend to go somewhere else or take your time when you walk through your future place here.
Where do I start. The back patio is literally caving in, you step on the first step and you feel it move. The basement window has been busted since we moved in and still no one has fixed it and it floods and all they keep doing is putting a pump in the window, we had to come up with a temporary fix for now. The 3rd floor bathrooms leak down to the basement, still hasn't been fixed going on 2 months now. The bathroom down stairs has no water pressure and leaks still no one has came to fix it. I've sent 17 work orders....still nothing.
I have reported on 2 separate occasions over 3, almost 4, months the issues i'm having with my ceiling leaking. It still has yet to be resolved. When I requested to have the blinds in my living room replaced, I was told I would have to go to the office and pick up the blinds and fix them myself as well as I would be charged for them. Management does not return phone calls and are extremely rude! The grounds are unkempt and tenants aren't held accountable for how their own personal space is kept. DO NOT MOVE HERE
I'd give zero stars if I could. Management has changed twice since I've been here and both were terrible. I signed my lease and put my deposit down months before my move in. The date came and had to pushed back because it wasn't ready. The day I moved in, it still wasn't ready. No blinds, closet doors that are too big for the doorway, literally, not kidding, every handle on my kitchen only had one screw holding them in, they just let the wet paint dry around the other side to hold it in place. There were no shelves in the refrigerator. Every outlet is so loose nothing stays plugged in. I found a hole in the wall by the stair case, stuffed with plastic grocery bags, with the carpet raised just enough to cover it. There are cracks in almost every ceiling downstairs and the upstairs hallway. The screen door is backwards. The back fence is full of rotted wood that breaks off if you pull on it to shut the gate, etc etc etc... It took months and numerous maintenance request to get some of it fixed and the rest they just marked as complete and dropped it off the work orders. I've lost count of the amount of plumbing issues we've had, flooding and destroying whatever is in the path. New management is more like a prison guard. Watching her interact with the other resident; very demeaning. She treats and talks to adults like children. One small example- I've seen her literally have people get out of the pool to show them their pool pass. Same people who are there ever evening, first name basis even and still insist, every time, for them to show their pool pass. And now, the decision has been made to close the pool at 5pm, when management goes home for the evening, because they have no way of checking passes and that was causing "problems". Trying to have adult conversations regarding suggestions for the community, she talks to you like your beneath her, she's rude, unprofessional, inhumane. I'm into environment issues and get it if somebody's not, but the suggestion was made to get rid of the additional charge to pay your rent online; no. Recycling bins on the premises; no. Huge colony of feral cats. No room in the shelters- suggestion- TNR, her response, drop them at the river. Maintenance is pretty quick about responding, however, they DO NOT, clean up after themselves. Example: garbage disposal needed replaced; when I got home the old one was sitting right in the hallway. And they will discuss your personal belongings and home with the other employees. Upstairs Bathroom pipe burst and leaked through the dining room ceiling, still have water stains. Part of the lease agreement requires you to report issues I'm a timely manner in order to maintain the condition of the living space, but with an unreasonable manager and half ass, gossiping maintenance people, it's not really something I want to do. At it's current state, I would not recommend this complex.
Managed by slumlords- save yourself the hassle. Leaking roofs, flooded basements, and the "manager" if you want to call her that has an aggressive pit bull that gets out of her fence and she does nothing about it. Those are just a couple of the reasons I would never live there again :
I Loved this place it was one of the best and quietest apts iv ever lived...Im a writer and a musician the place was very kind to me....I had to leave to go and help my daughter for a year....Now Im coming back
Loud kids runninh around the parking lot..don't get an apartment by the pool...never gonna sleep during summer. Other than that, pet friendly and clean.
